  1. I like having different reels for different purposes. Its kind of collecting/fishing.
  2. In a recent note, I decided to return the Diawa TDPro and rod. I decided to try out the Abu Garcia Revo SX on a Vendetta rod. After Sundays scouting at the Lake, I decided the Diawa just wasnt to the "T" of what I need. Not to say the reel wasnt good, it was, after I lubed the reel myself due to the lack of lubing from the factory, it worked a lot better, just not good enough for me. It could cast a country mile after tuning, but it was just missing the smoothness I was used to being a Shimano man. The Revo SX is in my opinion, a much smoother reel from the box, and seems to be built much better for the extra money. It casts awesome, smooth retrieve, and paired with the Vandetta rod, it just feels "right". The best thing about it, its all black and red colors (my favorite combination). Gambler tournament on Saturday, its gonna get abused pretty bad, lets see how it does compared to my Curado E7, and Citica G6.
  3. I fish straight braid on all my rigs, but I fish HEAVY cover.
  4. The wedding is on St Patricks Day, right after we ae headed to Disney. The trip to Boston is a trip after I graduate my Paramedics course. Its gonna be a post honeymoon you could say. Anyway, I couldnt help myself but buy a reel the other day when picking up some baits at Bass Pro for next weeks tournament at Lake Okeechobee. So since Ive been looking for aa new reel, my eye caught a glimpse of a reel I dont remember ever being there before. Looked, played, bought. Diawa TDPro 7:1. Used the hell out of it yesterday, amazing! Ifvyou purchase one, tear it down and lube it first. I dont thmink they do a good job from the factory. After I did the lubing it worked soo much better. Matched it to a Team Diawa rod, new favorite! P.S. Still need a travel rod, haha.
  5. Well I tried to post Google and apparently it got deleated. Seriously though you would be amazed at how much you can find it helps. Some of my old reels that I would take appart, and need to find stuff fo them, just Google the model and soo much stuff comes up that will help you. Other people may post videos of the reel on youtube and it will help answer any questions if no one can. Thats my input, go ahead and bully, but it does help.
  6. Bps Pro Qualifier, Berkley Ligjtning Shock rod. $150 on the dot!
  7. Ah men, braid is way more sensative. All my rigs are Spiderwire spooled.
  8. I wouldnt use braid for UL. Go with a 6# flouro. I use Stren flouro on my UL.
  9. Already done. Lubed and tuned. Lets roll!
  10. Its like an addiction. If you only took it as far as melting a plastic worm in a spoon and the shooting into your arm.
  11. To start restocking would require you to stop first, right? Then I cant answer this.
  12. I use them as my jig trailer, swin it or drag it, my fav.
  13. A good lube never hurt anyone
  14. I use Spiderwire, and it starts out green. No problem, a simple black marker, and I color about 6 ft of the line before the lure. No problem.
  15. Pretty much all my reels are in the $100-$150 range. There are many to choose from in that range and I think the quality is good to the point where they are not a garbage reel and not too over priced. As far as limiting to a $100 budget, I think the best bang for the buck is going to be a BPS Pro Qualifier. I have one and its very good all around. No problems soo far, and everyone talks nothing but good things about them.
  16. If you have 4 E's, than I would get something different. Expand your collection, thats what I do. Each reel that you get has its own charactoristic. I have all different reels, and like rods, they all have a strong point of use, and thats what they get rigged up for. Just my opinion, to me its nice to look at and use something different everytime I pick up a rig for use.
  17. So far soo good. Still trying to get used to the way it casts, though it was very windy today. Overall, Im pretty impressed with it. Ive seen some pretty bad reviews on Bass Pro with it, but there are many that were very pleased. I try to make my own opinion before others that may bad mouth things. Its going to get a hell of a workout on the 28th for the tournament at Clewiston on Lake Okeechobee, so It will have a full day of fishing to get a better idea.
  18. every once in a while I whip one out, they still produce. Ive had those for about 17 years.
  19. yes, exclusive. So far so good. Tried it last night for a quick tune. Going out of loxahatchee today, lets see if it actually catches fish, haha.
  20. Yeah, I just picked up a Diawa TDPro yestrday. So Im just gonna try and find a decent 2 piece for the travel. Right now its sitting on a Team Diawa rod.
  21. No G, go E. I actually like the look of the EXO. I hope it performs as good as it looks, but Im sure it does.
  22. cheap $100 Kodak. It stays in my fishing bag, but takes great pics.
  23. the one that covers the nut?
  24. For those of you that live in the South Florida area, Gambler Lures is putting on a tournament January 28, 2012. The enrty is free, the only thing you are allowed to fish is a Gambler Lure. There is cash payouts, and many prizes to be won. So go to GamblerLures.com for details. Good luck ya'll.
  25. So as I went to Bass Pro to pick up some Gambler lures for the Okeechobee tournament on the 28th, I caught a glimpse of this beautiful new reel. I had to have it for my arsenal, the Diawa TDPRO100SH. I Matched it up with a 7 ft Team Diawa T rod. Spooled it up with 65# Spiderwire, rigged with a 1/32 weight, and a 3/0 XPS Magna Superlock Bass Pro hook, and WALA! My new favorite! This thing casts effortlessly, and is silky smooth. Its gonna sit very good as my third plastics set up, next to my CuradoE7, and CiticaG6. If you havent had a chance to check it out yet, get to your local Bass Pro and take a look.
