  1. I have a whole reel that you could buy. Its in perfect condition, so plenty of spare parts.
  2. Will a 200B spool work? I know its righty, but the spool might be the same, just turn it around.
  3. Anything that makes a splashing on the surface of the water will work. They are not too particular in what they attack. I usually catch them a lot using a BPS Horney toad on a 3/0 wide gap hook. Just run the frog across the surface so the feet splash like crazy and they will go nuts. They are usually located within 3 feet of the shore, so using something that can be rigged weedless is a plus.
  4. Bearings dont always mean smoother. My Revo SX has 11 bearings, and my Curado 200E7 has like 4 or 5. I can cast my Curado just as far, if not farther, and its smoother. The Citica is a good real too, but its nowhere near the E series Curado, maybe the G series. I like my G series Citica, but Im just saying I think you will like the PQ better for all around performance. My PQ is in my opinion my third best real I own, One being my E7, and the other my Revo SX. I am very happy with the bang for the buck on the PQ, and millions will tell you the same. Its the best reel that BPS has produced (even though it was made by another company for them). It will definately go down in history with the E7 for this generation of reels.
  5. PQ is smoother, longer casts, built better in my opinion. If its gonna be a shimano its gonna be a Curado.
  6. PQ. Built way better. I own both.
  7. I own both the PQ and Citica. I am a Shimano man, but I think for what you are looking for is the PQ. Citica is good, but its not the Curado.
  8. Belle Glade and Clewiston areas are pretty good. West wall flats are pretty prductive right now. Jig for pigs, otherise run some swim baits through the grass for ome crazy hitting 2-4 lbers
  9. It deffinately is a tactical way of fishing, and when masterd it is very usefull. My opinion, use what you are comfortable with.
  10. BPS Pro Qualifier, Berkley Lightning Rod.
  11. My Curado 200E7 on Berkley Lightning Shock Rod and 65# Spiderwire. Abu Garcia Revo SX on Vendetta rod and 65# Spiderwire.
  12. No, BPS, they let me trade back in my Daiwa. Only ended up costing me a few more dollars, but well worth it. Im righty though, so I cant use it anyway. d**n good price, thats half, makes you wonder what the markup is on these things?
  13. Depends on what the inserts are made of
  14. Just picked up a Revo SX and put iton a Vendetta, AMAZING! Love it, its a 7 ft M, and feels soo good.
  15. Just my opinon, but I think flouro casts better and better strength against abrasion
  16. Well I have only 1 complaint with this setup. It casts soo smooth and soo far, its hard for me to keep from not chucking the bait as far as I can try to every cast, haha.
  17. I personally use braid on all my rigs, but nothing thin like 10#, all mine are 65#. What you are setting up sounds like an UL style set up, I think you would be happier using a 8-10# flouro and get a nice fight out of the little fish. Unless you are fishing really heavy cover, you dont need the braid. Tune the reel right and get some KVD line conditioner (someone recommended it to me on this site for my mono rig i keep in the car and it works great).
  18. 65# Spiderwire=12# dia. Thats why I like it. I never have problems with it.
  19. When I looked at it at Bass Pro I thought it was pretty neat looking. Its definately very different, and the way the hood pops up when you push the thumb-bar down is just innovative. I just would like to ba able to use one before I bought one to see if its worth the $$$.
  20. You fish different types than me. Im in the swamp here in the Everglades where mono and flouro dont stand a chance against the cover that is in our waters. We dont fish most those baits you mentioned, its mostly frogs, lizards, toads, shads, traps, jerks, spooks, some jigs (mostly swimming through heavy grass), big worms and snakes. I see your point, being from GA, he may have heavy cover, he may not, all I know is that unless you are fishing a clean lake down here, flouro and mono dont cut it. You want to drag a pig out of the grassy flats, you better be at least 50# braid or better.
  21. I have no such mentioned problems except for maybe some tip wrap every once in a while, but thats the nature of the beast. Never broke, I can fish fine in the wind, casts better that flouro or mono, and if you let the line slack too much thats your own fault. Tune your equipment and get used to braid and it will be your best friend, but everyone has their own opinion.
  22. Open water you can do a 17lb flouro. You just have to remember that each type of line has its own characteristics. Flouro can be damaged easier than braid, but is stronger than mono. I think braid is a lot easier to cast than mono or flouro. All my rigs are spooled with 65# Spiderwire, and it serves me good whether I fish local canals, or the thick grassy flats in the Everglades. Also, braid is a zero stretch, so hooksets are a +, but it takes some getting used to. The only way your gonna know is to try it. I fish with all baitcasters, maybe you use spinners, so there are some variables to the equation.
  23. Heavy cover=Heavy line. 65# should be good. Braid all day long
  24. A little too much $$ for me. My next reel on the hit list is gonna be the T3 Ballistic.
