  1. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Barrett's Esophagus, this is a weakening of the muscle around the valve that closes the esophagus. I've had heartburn, ulcers, Acid Reflux, even waking up in the middle of the night to vomit stomach acid for over 17 years. My uncle had it so bad that he developed Esophageal Cancer. If you have Acid Reflux you must get checked for it. He had it so bad that they had to cut out his Esophagus and reattach his stomach to the bottom of the valve. Very painful and life altering. Best thing I've found is losing weight, not eating late, taking prevacid every night and wearing my sleep apnea machine at night. I've tried all of the above mentioned drugs, and thats what finally worked for me. I know you guys may think this sounds crazy, but it's kinda funny, my mom's maiden name was Barrett. Rather ironic don't you think?
  2. I thought only my customers did stupid stuff. You guys make me feel alot better about the people I deal with every day. I've been in the hardware business for 5 years now and a day doesn't go by that I don't have to tell a customer "that may not work", but what I really want to say is " Hey stupid, call me from the hospital and let me know how that worked!!!". I can't really complain though, I know it's gonna get me one of these days. My dad has cut off a fingertip 3 times trimming the hedges. On the 3rd trip to the ER, they just asked him when he walked in " Which one is it this time?". He couldn't learn the first two times?
  3. Like LBH said, be careful what you ask for. My dad still has days where he can outfish me with his daiwa goldcast, eagle claw rod, and a spinner rigged creme worm, not many, but it still happens
  4. If you think a pill is bad, try taking something away from the other end. All I can say is it involves a gunny sack and a very sharp knife.
  5. I haven't fished it yet either, but will probably this summer. One word of caution - some of my inlaws live in Skiatook and have told me that the lake has been infected with zebra mussels. Just be sure to follow the procedures for disinfecting your boat.
  6. I know everyone is telling you to mount the motor permenantly, but we always took our motor off of our 22' river boat. We would just throw an old tire in the bottom of the boat right over the wheels and lay the motor on it. This saves your transom from the stress of any bouncing and distributes the weight better. Most folks will think this is crazy, but it worked for us for over 25 years with the same boat and motor until the fiberglass finally rotted(its a long story), and by looking at the age of the boat, the less stress you put on it the longer it will last.
  7. I just purchased a Custom Angle Moby Bass Rod. I got a really good deal on it and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I have searched BR, TackleTour, and Google and can find minimal information on the company. Any help would be appreciated
  8. I know how you feel Muddy, I have been fighting mine pretty hard lately. I hadn't been paying attention and had been eating what I wanted (the stress thing) and my average was over 300. The doc chewed my butt. Have since started back on Amaryl and watching what I eat and have been getting my sugar down between 100 and 180. But as soon as stress and frustration creep back in I know I will have a fight on my hands. I have been as big as 330 lbs and am now back down to 275 lbs. One thing I have noticed is that my legs feel alot better when I watch my sugar, but I am easily irritable. How do you guys deal with the stress and agravation without letting it affect your sugar? It's kinda funny, I've been diagnosed for 3 years now but have watched family members deal with it for 25 years and I still don't have the willpower to really stay at it.
  9. probably the best thing you can use is a butt splicer. then cover it with heat shrink tube and then cover with liquid duct tape. If you walked into my ACE store that is what I would tell you.
  10. read the fine print regarding the sponsors. and yes you could pull a boat with a LX470 or a GX470
  11. I hate to say it, but i got the last one at my local walmart last year. picked it up for $5.00. It makes a great crankbait and spinnerbait rod.
  12. I graduated in 4 1/2 years from Northwest Missouri State University with a BS double major in Agricultural Business and Horticulture. I had some friends who took 7 years and they are not called Doctor!!!!
  13. I am sure the surgery is better now than when I had mine 16 years ago. I had a herniated L5. I was only 15 years old at the time. It took about 7 or 8 years to feel truly comfortable doing whatever I wanted. The key was that I was only 15, I didn't really work hard at my rehab(they didn't really give me anything to do but walk, seriously, what a joke!), and it just prolonged my FULL recovery. If you have any questions PM me or e-mail me.
  14. I would reccomend them to anyone. The only one i am wary of is the solene. I bought one of them and it didn't feel or sound right. I took it back and all of them seemed to have a problem. I have four pinnacles and absolutely love them. I have 3 vision metals and 1 janis metal.
  15. You can get on the silstar website and they have a service center in GA. Call them and discuss it with them. I am sending 2 of mine in and they said it will be $15 plus parts if needed. PM me if you have any questions.
  16. I've only been able to find Kinami's, but my best producing colors are watermelon with a chart. tail and watermelon christmas flake. I also have some luck with junebug.
  17. I got mine for 39.00. I just went ahead and upgraded to a vision for 89.00
  18. Let me preface this by saying that 4 of my 6 reels are pinnacles. I bought one with some money from christmas, when I got it home and played with it a little while I became concerned about a grinding noise I heard while playing with it. I took it back to Roger's (where I got it) and played with the others. They all had the same noise. I took it back home and took it apart and noticed that it had all plastic gears except for the main crank. Just be careful, I may be wrong, this might be an issue with it later down the road. I took mine back and got a vision metal. All of my Pinnacle reels have all metal gears. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but the plastic gears make me nervous.
  19. I am sorry, but I have to disagree. IMHO the Ika is 10 times the "power fishing" lure that the senko is. What other plastic can you chuck that far without a weight. I am always able to cover more water with an Ika than with a senko. I really am afraid that it will finally be outed as the fish magnet it is. Just glad I overloaded on them in the bargain boat at cabelas!
  20. I absolutely agree with Jim, the only thing red cast is good for is backing. IMHO that stuff is junk.
  21. I saw you lived in OK, so, find the nearest grain elevator and ask if you can dig some worms in between the grain bins. They usually are the best place to find worms because they have all of the waste grain that drops in between them.
  22. I want to see the pictures when you tip over the bull by accident. ;D
  23. Try a real light jig worm on spinning gear.
  24. Went out December 16th, amazingly warm for Kansas City area. Caught 6 LM a 4.5lber, 3.5lber, another 3.5lber, and three 2lbers all in a friends pond. The water was probably in the upper 40's and caught all but one on a slow rolled spinner bait, the other one was caught on a jigworm. Also went out on December 31st. Went to Watkins Mill lake and we caught nothing. The water temp was 42 and a front was moving in. We left the lake and went to the same pond and I caught two 3lbers and a 2lber and a 1.5lber. All were caught on a jigworm. How many times will I be able to say that I caught 4 bass on new years eve and it even snowed later on that day!!!!!
