  1. I don't think the level will stay up. TVA.gov is your friend. Start tracking the water level, if it is stable the fish will be somewhat stable. They have dropped the level a foot in the last 48 hours. I haven't been on the water in a while, so I can't help much more than that, right now.
  2. Water levels are up and down with the rains. Stay between the channel markers when on plane. The lake is already crowded and everyone will be stacked in the mouths of creeks. But two weeks is a long time to speculate on patterns, this time of year. You will read about 25 to 40 pound bags, but you don't see that 90% caught zero that day. Now for an answer....lol. Traps, swimbaits, cranks, and A-rigs should lead the way. Watch the TVA site for water level. It's up 2' with this rain, and if you were here this weekend I would say hit the banks. If you have Humminbird electronics and a lakemaster card, you'll be fine.
  3. Trout fishing on the Hiwassee. B&B marina crappie. Any of the overpasses on river road, from Olin to the Tennessee river. Below the dams. The Chic is one of the best bass lakes in the country. I don't know many bank fishing spots, but you live close to some great bass fishing. And Parksville lake has some monster spotted bass. PM me when you can and I'll help some more.
  4. Thanks.
  5. Lurking: I'll be down next Wed. Gonna fish Rodman and George for the first time.
  6. Alcoa makes rolls of sheet aluminum for cans (beer, coke cans). They also pour small pigs to sell. They use to make raw aluminum from boxite ore, but they closed that part of the south plant in 2009. There is some decent fishing in that area, but I would highly recommend looking at the Chattanooga, Cleveland, Dayton triangle area. The fishing is 10x better.
  7. Lake Pan has some big fish. A tagged 15 and 18 are swimming around in there somewhere. I hope to have pics of them in February.
  8. +1 for the Chattanooga, Tn area. Chic, Guntersville, and Pickwick are all close.
  9. I have to disagree that all the mods are ok. One mod thinks that you should spend six months reading posts so that you don't post in the wrong place in your first 50 posts. And one should have an internet degree before asking a question before you get 50 posts. And if a new member dares to make one of these mistakes then you will get a big ole " Come on man" so you won't post ever again. Just my two cents.
  10. You could have answered the question in as many words as it took you to be a jerk about it.
  11. 6" lizard and Eels and sometimes a SK goby or senko.
  12. Of the seven people that have responded to the topic of if you could only fish one lure for the rest of your life topic. What is your average finishing place in tournement? Just curious and thought it would be interesting to see if a certain mind set placed higher in TX's.
  13. Around here, I would say golf and I know some that quit because their style of fishing had a tough year.
  14. Call SK and send them back. Had a buddy send some back and got 3x the number in return. Good luck.
  15. Never been hit by a coot, never been hooked by a treble, never lost a fish, wait all those have happened. But I have never had a 20+ lb sack at weigh in.
  16. Catt, you started this in 08 and it is still going. Thanks for the info. But....................you didn't finish the original topic. All lakes have it. Humps, points, ridges, roadbeds, are not in all lakes. So, since I have been copying and pasteing for the past three days, I must assume that there is more to this topic and it has slipped away from your lesson plan. Or, you feel that this is a completed subject and you are waiting for the students to tell you their answers. Water, would not be the correct answer, and since some lakes don't have points and some don't have humps and some don't have roadbeds, ect. I suppose that would make the answer ???? Structure? Again, thank you. I have not been a member on BR long, but this is the most informative site there is.
  17. Well, after many hours of searching and scanning, I finally found the advanced search icon. And by using the advanced search, I was able to find many posts and the links worked to other posts that are great reading also. Baitfish, know your shad, and many others that I can now bookmark and read. Catt, Matt Fly, and others, thank you.
  18. My prespawn fish disappeared this weekend. The bucks were shallow building nest, caught one bloody. I didn't catch any females and the electronics showed them piled up in 10 - 30 ft of water. But I couldn't get them to bite. I fished Watts Bar. Water temp was 72 - 74.
  19. Exactly. But I still can't find Matt Fly's bait fish post, because the link doesn't take me to the post. I also can't go to other links that are in good posts.
  20. I'm sorry, but I searched and searched. You've already have some outstanding information so I'll just add the read the following Demystifying Structure by Catt http://www.bassresou...?num=1186055966 Bait Fish by Matt Fly Part 1 - http://www.bassresou...?num=1134661967 Part 2 - http://www.bassresou...num=1134662267/ Power of Observation I & II by Raul http://www.bassresou...um=1119546571/0 How come when I click on the link it just sends me back to the home page????
  21. Thanks for all the imput. I'm gonna keep looking and digging. I'm thinking spinning reel seat turned upside down and maybe adding a skeleton trigger behind the seat. That way, if the trigger is still in the way, I could add spacers to adjust the position of the trigger to fit. My second choice would be to take the standard casting reel seat w/ trigger and turn it around so that the trigger would be towards the tip of the rod. I'm going to keep playing.
  22. I think my Cashion rod has ACS style seat. I think the issue, for me, is the location of the trigger. They all seem to be the same distance behind the reel seat itself. And that puts the trigger where it is an issue. I am looking for options that will move the trigger to better fit. Thanks J. The ACS is alittle better ( more comfortable ) though.
  23. I was kind of thinking about that too. That would move the trigger back behind the little finger and still give support without making me manipulate my fingers around the trigger.
