  1. Nice acquisition, you should post pics:-) The pprevious gen revo neo was a looker too
  2. Umm yeah you better keep the reel buddy. Had a situation exactly like this with an ex gf. If she put in thought and effort then that's saying something. You don't need an expensive rod to enjoy a nice reel.
  3. Got to fish it this weekend, performance wise its easily a match for the Aldebaran BFS. I didn't fish them side by side but I used the same lures. The lightest one I was throwing was a 2.3 gram lipless crank and a 2.4 gram SK bitsy minnow which equates to about 3/32 oz. Hard to say about distances but Id say about 40 feet with a nice deliberate side arm swing. I did backlash a lot dialing it but they were really easy to pick out since the spool is so shallow lol. As far as the knobs, they are actually the ZPI BFC light finesse knobs. The schematic doesn't even list them but heres more info for you http://www.office-zpi.com/httpdocs/jpn/15_knob/knob_lightfinesse.html
  4. That just means you should expand your horizons bro. I'm most cases you will save money and get the item in the same amount of time. If nothing in the USDM is meeting your needs its nice to know there are other options.
  5. That the curado supply will be limited and people will buy something else?
  6. Wishful thinking on your part lol.
  7. I totally forgot about the 6.4 ratio. The JDM Aldebaran comes in 5.8 and 7.0, the Aldebaran BFS comes in 8.0 and has a slightly different design. You are only looking at the USDM market. Think globally.
  8. What options are you looking for? They come in 5.8, 7.0, and 8.0 ratios, and a bfs model.
  9. Nice pics and mini review! I knew it would be awesome just by having the SVS Infinity. Thanks for posting for us to see it.
  10. I'm pretty sure the knobs are ZPIs. They are actually a hollow hard plastic, not rubber. I'll check the schematic tonite and post the part number.
  11. I predict in about a year or 2. Over the last few years Shimano has been steadily revamping its freshwater lineup. The Curado/Chronarch E body came out about a year before the Core 50/Aldebaran body. So logically the 50 size should be next.
  12. Dude post pics.. Did they sell out or are there still any left? I might make a trip down there lol
  13. Taking it out this weekend. First impressions, the paint job and clear coat is very much subpar, but I knew that going in. Feels stiff and geary, hopefully it will loosen up and smooth out with use. Spool is super shallow, only 8.2 grams, and the spare "deeper" spool is only 8.4 grams. Going to see if it can throw lighter and farther than the Aldebaran BFS.
  14. I couldn't find a Curado I today but the mail lady dropped this off and made me feel better lol. Revo LTZ AE74
  15. Almost all the complaints are from Shimano haters and people who have never even touched one. Funny thing is, alot of the complaints came before the reel was even released.
  16. I've never heard that the Lexa could cast light baits well, how light are you talking?
  17. Curado I goes on sale tomorrow :-)
  18. The tatula is a good caster but my curado 50 casts just as good. The new Curado I is coming out this Friday, and if its anything like the Metanium its gonna eat the Tatula in casting distance. And its right in your price range.
  19. I just called my local BPS and the guy on the phone said they don't have the new Curados in the store yet and it sounds like they wont have any on Friday either, he was guessing before March 1 is when they will have them. How knowledgeable are the sales reps on things like this?
  20. I'm going to be on TWs website at midnite ready to add into my cart lol.
  21. That's what Im saying lol.. I cant swing or handle a 7+ ft rod as well as a 6'6 so I can cast farther with the shorter rod.
  22. If you can swing the 7ft rod as fast as you can swing the 6'6 then yeah the tip speed would be greater, but its like a baseball bat, the longer the bat, the harder it is to swing, so if someone cant generate the same speed with the longer rod then the tip speed advantage is negated. 7ft rods feel a bit unwieldy to me so I cant consistently get a good stroke on it like I can with a shorter rod.
  23. Basically with my casting style I can swing a 6'6 rod faster than I can swing a 7ft rod.
  24. How tall are you? Being only 5'9 I cant generate as much rod speed on the cast with a 7+ ft rod vs a 6'6 to 6'8 ft rod so I can actually cast farther with the shorter rods.
