  1. Probably that, the x ship, and the smaller teeth on the gear.
  2. The Basszone handles look exactly like the Hedgehog Studios. If they are the same then the quality is excellent, especially for the price. Id get it
  3. Nice setup, I also have the 5.5 Curado and its got super smooth cranking power. I could feel a huge difference vs a 6:4 ratio Revo SX when reeling in a big double willow spinnerbait. The Revo labored and tired out my forearms but the Curado I could barely feel the blades turning
  4. Yep this is where I got them. They are about a gram lighter than advertised.
  5. Oh and flush those bearings out. I also have a Revo LTZ and I'm hard pressed to see a difference in performance between the 2.
  6. Yeah those avail spools are super shallow. I've thrown SK Bitsy Minnows which are 2.5 grams or 1\16th a good distance as well as 1/16th rooster tails even farther. What rod are you using? That's going to be 75% of the battle in throwing light lures. I use mainly a Major Craft Volkey BFS rated down to 1\32.
  7. Its actually my favorite reel. What is underwhelming about it to you? Maybe I can help?
  8. New knobs for the BFS
  9. Metanium xg because it can handle lures down to 1\8th and pair it with an Expride 6'8 MH.
  10. Nice review.. the one thing holding me back from them is that super short handle, might make my hand cramp after extended use.. do you have issues with it?
  11. I know shimano manufactures their own reels. They opened a new facility in Malaysia after the big earthquake in Japan a couple of years ago.
  12. Yep.. the new Metaniums are awesome at EVERYTHING.
  13. The current LP Shimano 50s will throw 1/8th very well all day long. I was using my Curado 50 to throw Rapala Ultralight minnows yesterday.
  14. Yep, I thought the wacky rig was silly at first but the first day I tried it I caught my personal best.
  15. Ive had success this spring with small jerkbaits just hopping them up and down on the beds. The trebles help out a lot when the bass just bite the tail to push the lure off the bed.
  16. What weight lures are you throwing? I had the 2nd gen SX and it casted great for heavier stuff and long casts. Its got a really heavy spool so if you are throwing anything under half an oz it might give problems
  17. Ive got the Curado I and Tatula R, the Curado is the longer caster for me, but other than that, they are very similar in performance in most other respects. But what sways it for the Curado is the palming. Its almost 50 sized which is a huge plus for me for the way I palm, I have to change my grip with the Tatula because the teeth on the mag dial rubs my finger raw. Id go to a BPS and handle them both, put them on a rod and see what feels best.
  18. You can find the JDM equivalent Scorpion still available new in box.
  19. Ive lost over $100 in Jackalls and Lucky Crafts over a weekend lol
  20. Apparently the Chronarch E is still selling very well, no need to discount them.
  21. Yeah that's what I said lol.. Seiji kato
  22. Im more of a Jackall guy but I have to admit, LC Pointers catch more fish for me. The action is more erratic even thought they look almost the same and are designed by the same guy.
  23. The reason ****** nozzles keep being ****** nozzles is because people don't put them in check. I have a saying.. "A punch to the face would solve 90% of the worlds problems" lol. If they have enough people get in their face when they do something disrespectful, they will get the hint and modify their behavior.
  24. I use a lot of 2 piece because I have a smallish car, but when possible I use my 1 piece rods.
  25. While that's a far cast I don't believe its 100 yards. The wide angle of the camera distorts things. 100 ft is decent with crankbaits that have lips which catch air and slow things down a lot. Its crazy how the littlest things on a lure can cause aerodynamic drag and affect cast distances.
