  1. Drave 90mm handle
  2. Team Lite.. ive been using mine alot and its a beast. It has a really good casting range because of the light spool so you can throw lighter baits which ive heard the bb1 isnt that great at.
  3. They lost the plot a few years ago when they bumped the prices of their reels to ridiculous levels. If this reel has 3D brakes it will actually justify a higher price. Im actually very interested in buying one now depending on a few factors.
  4. They are the first of my go to shops for jdm. They are set p so that you can pay directly and save time instead of waiting for an emailed invoice like some other shops. Also if you are a repeat customer they will hook you up from time to time with some free knick knacks like a pack of jigheads etc...
  5. The x-ship keeps the pinion and the main gear perfectly aligned which translates to more power transferred under load and definitely smoother, and dont forget the micro module gears on the Metanium. I don't buy the whole "daiwa has been doing it for years". They use 2 different spool shaft designs. Since Daiwas "free floating" spool has a short spool shaft that does not pass through the pinion, I think 2 bearings to support the pinion was a necessity rather than feature. It gives xship shimanos a different feel vs a short spool shaft Daiwa. My Aldebaran 50 is noticeably smoother and more powerful than my SS SV with high resistance lures and while fighting bigger fish. Since Shimano uses a long spool shaft that passes through the pinion, under a heavier load the shaft is more than likely supporting the pinion on the non bearing end but it would be slightly misaligned, but that's why they can get away with using only 1 bearing for years in their non x ship reels. Notice how Daiwa does not use double bearing pinions on their long spool shaft designs like the Tatula and Lexa, etc..
  6. Ive had both for awhile but Ive havent gotten to fish the Citica yet LOL. The spools weigh the same which was not the case in the previous generation. So this tells me the performance will be the same which is great. If you want to save the $30 bucks get the Citica and use the money for some line or lures.
  7. The DC systems of the Scorpion and the Exsence are very different. The Exsence has the IDC+ "Exsence" tune. The Exsence has far more adjustability and it eats my Scorpion DC in casting, plus it has the trademark whine while the Scorpion doesn't.
  8. I had mine out last weekend slinging a spoon an easy 80 yards with a half effort cast. I forgot how fun this reel is. This reel is easily worth $400 imo. But its currently around $240. Buy one ASAP. Look at what else is available for $240.. I don't see anything that I would buy before the Exsence DC. Super long caster, super smooth, and very solid.
  9. A couple of years ago a sales rep told me that the Revo was their best selling LP line.. if anything Abu Garcia is going to take the biggest hit.
  10. If you have your eye on the LTX spend a little more and get the LTZ which is a slightly tuned version(ZPI bearings and knobs). It will handle those weights with ease and it comes with a deeper spare spool that's nearly as light as the shallow spool.
  11. Maybe a scorpion dc? Mine is impossible to backlash
  12. Editing a post to prove my point a bit better and you think you've stumbled upon some great revelation? lol And show me where you've called out another company's marketing terminology. Since I don't think anyone on this board is fluent in Japanese then nobody is going to be able to explain what the exact definition is but that link I provided gives the best explanation I could find but I doubt you even went to it.
  13. No, I know exactly who I'm addressing when I say "silly Daiwas". And I hate to break it to you, but Ive bought the Daiwa Japan fishing catalogs for the past 7+ years and they have just as many if not more marketing terms as Shimano.
  14. I'm not saying its not marketing terminology, I'm saying everybody has just as much marketing terminology including your silly Daiwas, which by the way is probably has the most gimmicky "tech" out of all the reel companies lol. Apparently though you will only call Shimano out for using marketing terms? I'm very familiar with Tackletour as I'm much more active there.
  15. Every company has marketing terminology including your silly Daiwas.. heres some info on the Hagane Concept.. why don't you educate yourself http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/technology/hagane2/index_en.html
  16. What are you talking about? $199 is the same price as the previous Curado 50e and Chronarch 50e.
  17. The Citica E doesnt get much love from the aftermarket spool makers. You are better off getting a Shimano 50.
  18. Yeah those guys aren't using 7 foot bass rods with micro guides lol
  19. In theory it should provide longer casting but the line still has to go through all the rod guides(which have gotten much smaller). By Daiwa's own admission it only increases distance by 5%.
  20. d**n that is sweet! A must buy and the JDM version too! lol
  21. I scored these exact same boxes last year off craigslist... lady sold them both to me for 20 bucks total lol...
  22. They are they same except for the bearings and the handle and star are not machined like the curado, but stamped if I recall.
  23. Sorry man... the king was dethroned and banished a few years ago lol... it was surpassed by several reels for finesse capabilities like the aldebaran bfs xg, xg limited, Revo ltz/ltx, and Daiwa's own T3 Air and SS Air.
  24. Wow you sure did copy a paste a novel to prove a very vague point with very limited information in alot of key areas such as the recession, dollar to yen ratio, and other factors. I can believe that people are tempted away to other brands like lews or abu, etc.. because their competing offerings will have more bearings and be lighter (which is a marketing strategy) for the same price range, but I've seen that for every angler that switches, just as many come to shimano. It's not an opinion, it's something that bassmaster magazine printed. Fyi Shakespeare was the best selling rod brand.. guess that makes them better than g loomis lol.
