  1. No micro click and its very tiny. My particular reels CC is very stiff. You can get a bigger, better looking CC from hedgehog studios though
  2. This is the only Megabass reel that I would actually spend money on, sweet reel!
  3. Im thinking that Elite 8 is a darkhorse. Ill bet it rivals the Metanium in performance. Its got a really light spool.
  4. Press inward or outward on the inner raised part of the brake block.
  5. I suggest you spend a little extra money and get a lucky craft pointer in American Shad color as well. Its caught fish for me when all other failed.
  6. There was some kid on here that was a staunch Ardent fan, haven't seen him in awhile.
  7. Yeah, I think Shimano purposely didn't surpass the 4x8 DC system in the lower models because they need the best unit in the flagship model. I think you would like the Exsence DC. They didn't neuter it as much as the other DC offerings.
  8. Nice review Goose! What other DC's do you have?
  9. The palming isn't that bad but that mag dial does rub my pointer finger so I have to palm it a different way. Definitely not a reel I would use for jerk baits.
  10. Shimano has made a DC system for ultralight lures, It was the Cardiff 50DC, made for trout, its not made anymore. Then there is the Conquest 50DC.
  11. After the 4x8 DC system of the Calais DC, all the new DC iterations were designed for maximum backlash control so the differences in distance won't be real significant. We will just have to let some of the new MET DC owners give their review s on the cast distance.
  12. The different color accents identify the different ratios. The only difference between the DC and non DC is the braking system, spool, and handle side plate. Everything else is the same.
  13. There is no difference. In Japan they measure the handle from the center nut to the knob axis. So half of 96 is 48.
  14. Im not sure where they said they didn't like it before the review started? Trust me, Cal and Zander favor Daiwas.. just look at the review times vs the reel release dates. The zillion just came out and they already have a review on it, when did the CI4 come out? Over a year ago. I do believe they have a special relationship with Daiwa as well. And he was doing the review so why wouldn't he state his personal preferences? That's what everybody would do. I personally only look at their performance ratings, the other categories I don't pay attention to as much.
  15. Performance wise the new Zillion got a higher rating than even the Steez. But Cal(the enthusiast editor who has several of the old Zillions) has his personal preferances when it comes to ergonomics and other things. I think the new Zillion would have been better received if it came out before the Tatula, as people just look at the Zillion as a more expensive Tatula with a couple of features that really don't improve on the performance of the Tat.
  16. I don't have the Chronarch, but the JDM version shows the S3D spool as a feature while the USDM doesn't. Don't know why. When I do get a Chronarch it will be the JDM model, 50 bucks cheaper and 1 extra feature doesn't hurt at all.
  17. japanlureshop is now my go to shop for JDM. Their shipping is cheaper and the ordering process is faster than Rakuten. Ive gotten things in literally 2 business days! JDM Chronarch CI4 is only like $220 there, JDM Zillion TWS is also cheaper there.
  18. Yep, if they went to 1 brake on, and 4-6 on the dial it would have easily outcast the Zillion and taken less effort with the lure they were using. The Zillion does have a much stronger drag though. Before you drop the money for either, see if you can go handle them somewhere like at BPS.
  19. You only need to put 1 drop of oil on the brake drum only if the brakes make a whirring sound on the tail end of the cast. Its not like its hard to do.
  20. Dang you went off! Lol.. I would have suggested buying just one to start but I know these Mets are awesome and you should be really pleased.
  21. That is sweet!
  22. If you like the Curado 50 palming you will love the new Aldebaran 50s ergos even better.
  23. Where a lighter 50 sized spool shines for me is the ability to throw those lighter baits distances that would be hard or impossible to do with a bigger capacity reel.
  24. I've been researching rods for it. Probably something in the 6'8 length for better balance. I'll use this for anything under 3/8ths really.
