  1. I'm sorry to hear that kickerfish. I have no ties to Kevin, but have always had timely service and reels come back working amazing! Unlike the time i sent 4 spinning reels to a board sponsor. I'll stop there to avoid the ban wagon!
  2. I'd recommend Pro reel service!
  3. I'd go with the fiber
  4. I just walk it out in my back yard...
  5. Guideswear, hands down. Huk hasn't been out long enough to tell if it'll keep you dry a years later. Guideswear will, for sure.
  6. Dobyns 736 is a bit much fit frogging. I'd suggest a tatula 7'2 H or *** black 7'3H.
  7. If you're worried about the fish seeing your line, you should definitely remove the hooks from your lures, given they are about 10x the diameter of your line. In all seriousness, the board's obsession with line visibility is absurd. Never should you ever be wasting your time with a leader on a frog.
  8. It does not float. It goes under easily, and once there, it suspends.
  9. Spend the money and get the guideswear. I've owned Simms, Guideswear, and BPS 100MPH and my personal favorite was the guideswear. Simms is not in any way worth the cost, and i'd take guideswear or 100MPH over it. I didn't have bad luck with the 100MPH, the guideswear just fit me better.
  10. Right, it leans to one side because one side is heavier than the other....because the trailer isn't aligned on the hook...
  11. More than likely It's not the knot. Make sure the skirt stands are fairly even around the collar, but more importantly make absolutely sure your trailer is perfectly aligned on the hook. I have had this issue quite a few times and every time it's the trailer.
  12. They are exactly the same rods, only different color wrap above reel seat, I hope you realize For the money the rods can't be beat, I bought 3 this winter as backups and been surprised how nice they are.
  13. On all my spinning and casting rods that don't have braid, I use CXX in 8-20lb depending on the setup. You need to use line and lure, but it's worth it imo.
  14. I'd go with 40lb. Not all that much thicker, but is quite a bit stronger.
  15. I guess I stand corrected!
  16. Man, i understand icast isn't the greatest, but what's with all the negativity on here?? The new Havoc flip bait looks pretty nice, will definitely produce. I'm also 99% sure the 736 glass is not the new bladed jig rod, but i could be wrong!
  17. 734 will be prefect!
  18. Personally I would not go with a moderate action rod, unless you'll be using braid. A dobyns 735 would fit what you want to do pretty well, a cheaper but incredibly nice rod fit this would be the tatula 7'4 frog rod. I personally have used both of these for 3/4 and 1oz spinnerbaits and they work great!
  19. 735 will be prefect for what you're looking to do!
  20. You are correct, I did affect the qualities of the bait and I do need a bait that suspends perfectly in the position it stops. By going to these hooks and a few mods to each bait, I have accomplished this. As far as horsing and drag settings, all my 110 fishing is done on spinning gear with 6lb copolymer and a light drag. I would encourage any of you to try catching 50+ Smallmouth averaging 4lbs in a day on those stock hooks and let me know how they work out for you For me, they were useless after they first ten fish, but to each their own!
  21. CXX. 8lb on spinning 10-20 on baitcasting depending on what i'm using, mostly 12 and 15 though. Use a little KVD line and lure and you've got one of the best lines out there, strong, low stretch, and fairly sensitive.
  22. The hooks that come on the 110's are junk, they come off the bait as soon as i get it. I replace all mine with KVD trebles, but not the 1x shank 2x short, just the standard shank and length size 6. Bait still suspends perfectly.
  23. Peg an 1/8 or 1/4oz bullet sinker on your line directly above your bait. Don't overthink it
