  1. I have to say I love my pro qualifiers... don't seem to use my old green reels any more.
  2. I am in Guntersville with friends fishing this week and have been skunked ? HEAVY WIND AND RAIN Monday only one small fish by Pole Cat. Heavy wind on Tuesday no fish at all great roller coaster ride under the big bridge and buck head. Can anyone please provide some good fishing location and info. Don't want to have a 755 mile trip be a total blow out for the kids. Grumpy
  3. Bobby did you ship the new stuff to Rolands Marina? I will be there tomarrow.
  4. East of the Lake on State Rd 80 (Southern Blvd) is the north entrance to the Loxahachee Wildlife Ref. The fishing is good there and they have new ramps. You can fish the canals or run 25 miles south and fish the flats.
  5. Hey Mike; The weather in Fla in Jan can be hit or miss so bring your warm cloths. Today it is 79 degrees and we fished the Loxahachee Flats 20 mile easy of the Big "O". We boated 36 bass between dink and 5 pounds all look good and healthy. I agree that the FLW boys can be a lot to deal with on the lake, So, if they get to be to much ask Arlin in Rowlands Tackle Shop to give you directions to Loxahachee's Boat Ramp at 20 mile bend. The Lake has been tuff to fish as of late and so I would get a guide at least one day. Steve Daniels guides there he can be reached at stevedaniel@gate.net. He knows the lake very well. Scott Martin is already rigging his new boat for the FLW tournament but he always has some guides around. PM me if you need more information and I can give you my cell number so you have a local contact.
  6. I looked that reel over at the store also it is a graphite frame. I passed on it and had them match the online price for a Pro-Finesse Reel 69.99. They are changing the pro-finesse reel next year and the Rick Clunn so they are blowing out the remaing stock cheap.
  7. Rooster check out that new President Reel I have been testing one for two weeks now and I have to say I like it. Paired it with a St. Croix MoJo 6.6M for senkos and flukes.
  8. St. Croix MoJo is a good rod
  9. George Welcome is a member of this site and one of the best guides in the state of florida. I would get with him Bass Dozer recommeds him to people coming to florida also. He is a saint when it comes to trophy hunting. He out fished me ten to three and I would only let him use a swimming senko while I had every bait known to man.
  10. Crooked Lake the water is back down after being real high last year. Go to the west side of the lake (Close to HWY 27) and then go south, the trail between big crooked and little crooked is real shallow so i would be careful in that area, Half way down the lake you will find an area with a lot of timber. I alway do real well there. my biggest fish from the lake is 10 pounds but it was caught 4 years ago. Don't for get to vist Bridge Masters acrossed from the Walmart on 60 it is the bass fishermans toy store. tell them Lt. Mike sent you.
  11. It looks like my old Rick Clunns and Johnny Morris reels but I don't know about that gold... It is a sick looking reel though ;D
  12. So how did the combo test out in the field?
  13. Hawgchaser is so right I have spent some time with the Pro's and I was surprised to see one with a Zebco 33 on his boat, when I asked about it he showed me how he uses it to skip bait under a dock. I was also surprised to see that many of them don't use those high end reels all of the time. I learned a long time ago that a pro will use what works.. Doubt me just take a look in any golf pros bag and you see that he may not be playing the same club he is advertising on the bag esp on tournament days. :-/
  14. He moved you back to the top of the forum 8-)
  15. I played with both the Black and the Silver Max and I have to say that the silver max was way better. I have two of them for the kids to use and I have to admit that I have fished the silver max with a Fluke on a cherry stick rod all day and never missed a fish. Just goes to show you that we don't need all those fancy rods and reels.........OOOOOOK down Bait monkey down.
