  1. so this is probably a stupid question but its all new to me and im learning as i go. i have a helix 10 msi plus g3n with a transom transducer, nothing has been mounted as of yet and was planning on just mounting on the console of my 16ft bass boat and spinning it when up front. however now i learned of linking up the units and thought of this. not sure if this could even be done or what is best. can i have the transducer for the helix 10 installed on the transom, mount the helix 10 on the bow. then just purchase a helix 7 g3n chirp with the appropriate cables and mount that on the console. or am i just wasting money and leave it on the console and spin it while im up front? thanks
  2. looking for someone who can install a helix 10 g3n on my 16 ft reservoir rig. previous owner has pre-ran wires and access is extremely easy as the decks are simple to remove. can anyone recommend someone. thanks
  3. so i was underneath the boat today sealing every single rivet and when doing so i can across 1 rivet that had the head broken off. so i put a ton of silicone on it and will get that replaced soon
  4. So I am a member of al these different groupings regarding, Humminbird, garmin etc... and I see a consistent pattern. Now I know I’m jut reading a small dose but it seems like it’s always the same story. The linking of electronics and trolling motors, for ex I am getting a helix 10 msi just one unit for now. So I join all these groups to learn and a large percentage of the post are how the linking always has issues and something isn’t working. Whether it’s the electronics or the trolling motor isn’t registering what the unit is trying to do. And me not being tech savvy it becomes overwhelming. now I like fishing deep structure and that’s what the reservoirs I fish call for. Would I be silly to thinking that goin to two units, two transducers and wired immediately not linked will be fine. Also not linking trolling motor just operate normally and when I wanna use stop lock just use it until I’m ready to move and go from there. Just seems when trying to link everything together causes more harm and headache l, when reality is these tools suppose to make our life easier.
  5. Have a 1989 Grumman renegade that was built to an electric bass boat, all decked out with sub-floor. I’ve notice after a day of fishing I am getting 2-3 gallons of water, takes about 45secs to drain after pulling plug. With the sub-floor and the way the decking is I can’t get to much from the inside. Any ideas or how would I address this
  6. What is the best mounting unit which will allow me to mount a helix 10 on the console but Would allow me to spin it to face the bow when I’m up front. Also it would enable me to remove the head unit to store inside, as I don’t have indoor storage and would like it not to be stolen off the boat. thanks joe
  7. i appreciate the responses. i never thought of mounting on bow and trying to see it from console. i also thought about the 2 transdcuers, even thought about moving it during the trip from console to the bow if im fishing in the same area for most of the day.
  8. Have on order a helix 10 msi + g3n for my small 16ft bass boat. Haven’t fully decided if I’m going to mount on console and spin it when I’m up front or mount it on the bow and add a second smaller unit for console. Question is if I got with a helix 7 for the console should I just get the helix 7 msi g3n and don’t working about linking. Still confused how the linking works and doesn’t seem cost effective when u have to add everything else.
  9. Have a 16ft electric only bass boat no electronics and an older 24v 70lb thrust motorguide. Now I’m looking to get it set-up for tournament fishing eventually. A lot of the fishing is done in 15-25ft range, foundations, grass beds, points and other deep structures. Should I be looking for a spot lock trolling motor first or a good set of electronics (garmin 106sv or helix 10)Hey
  10. I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on electronics for the boat I just got and have been researching and I’m sure asking pretty stupid questions as this is all new to me. I fish mostly deeper(10-25ft) of water foundations, deep grass and points in relatively clear reservoirs. I’m pretty sure I’ve decided garmin over helix but now which garmin unit. I see price wise I can get a 93sv uhd bundle for not much more then a 106sv or 102sv ultra. Are the 106/102 so much more superior that I should just get one of those and upgrade to livescope later on, or is the difference so small the 93svuhd will suffice.
  11. funny that was the unit ive been looking at but just recently found out that the maryland reservoirs i fish (electric only) there is no mapping for them in the garmin and lowrance, only in the humminbird. i havent confirmed this with lowrance or garmin yet i emailed both and waiting back for response.
  12. recently purchased a reservoir rig in maryland and looking to get some electronics. unfortunately my knowledge is very limited on this and from researching you can easily get overwhelmed with information. which models would you guys recommend ill get the most bang for my buck. i have a 16ft boat so one on the console that i can spin might work or should i go two, one on console and the other on bow. price range is maxed at $1500 right now
  13. Anyone have any opinions on 2000 nova pro weld ultra Jon 18 ft??
  14. Great info. N I agree with having a touch slower action. Or maybe that’s what I’m use to
  15. Has anyone compared the cashion or John crews cashion vs the Dobyns Sierra. I believe sierra is lower price but from what I hear it over performs price point.
  16. Awesome thanks for the info
  17. Loved the way the newer chronarch felt, has anyone done a direct comparison between that n the Daiwa tatula sv tws?
  18. Just seeing if anyone has compared the dobyns lineup sierra or champion to the tatula elite and ags models.
  19. Yes I'm very curious right now with them but like you said there is zero info on them. I was kinda looking for a versatile rod but would mainly use it for square bills, finesse swimbaits, 3/8oz spinnerbaits small size swim jogs. Might take a flier and try it out. Hoping to get some more info
  20. Looking for a rod to pair with my new daiwa zillion. looking for a rod to use for spinnerbaits, squarebills and on occassion a topwater. ive been looking at the following but havent found to many reviews. 1: shimano crucial crankbait 7ft M 2: Daiwa DX-Bass Crankbait 7ft MH 3: Okuma EVX Crankbait 7ft MH 4: Denali Lithium 7ft M crank or the 6'10 MH spinnerbait 5: *** *** Black Crankbait Gen 2 Right now im leaning towards the Daiwa but i cant find too many reviews, seeing if anyone has any input or experience with some of these.
  21. i love jig fishing and have fished a large variety of brands, however 2 out of the 3 brands im going to mention i have not tried, nor have i held one of there jigs. i was seeing if anyone has fished side by side the new strike structure jig, *** jigs and siebert jigs. i fish some places that are drastically the opposite of each other. i know the siebert line has many different brands, i was mainly looking at the brush jig, finesse and derocker football, the *** is the *** and there football jig, and for SK was the structure, baby structure and both football/finesse football jig one reservoir is stained with nothing but rock and wood and is known as a jig fishery. couple other reservoirs are clear with rock, wood and some grass and other is mostly grass with some rock and wood and water clarity is between the above reservoirs(if that makes sense). seeing how these jigs stacked up against each other.
  22. Seeing opinions on the roboworm vs the finicky tickler on the shakyhead. Has one compared these two baits
  23. Has anyone compared the savvy line vs the rosewood??
  24. ive used alot of reels in that range and lower and this year i finally saved abit more and got a denali rosewood shakeyhead rod and paired it with a stradic ci42500. completely love this combo, im actually selling my falcon t7cara spinning rod and pflugeur supreme xt newer black and gold one and get the exact same setup.
  25. HAHAHA glad you posted this. Within the last week this has happened so far. Fedex lost a 98 inch rod tube carrying 3 fishing rods in a 15ft van. Driver remembers seeing the rod tube but doesnt recall where it went or if he even delivered it. Then about a week passes, i return home from work and see a rod tube at my door. Apparently they located the package and delivered it to the right address. However, it looks like they decided to runover about 3 ft of the rod tube damaging all 3 rods. I have another 6 rods coming on sat lets see if they come and make it all in one piece. Also i understand everyone makes mistakes, we are all human. But when your only job is to safely load, unload and deliver packages to the proper addresses is not that hard if you truly think about it. When you make mulitple errors on a job that only requires a few steps to do right, there is something wrong there. People pay good money to ship a package and expect it to get to the proper address without any damage. Its not asking to much, we are only asking you do your job right. quite frankly out of all of the i rate them usps, ups then fedex. again these are my experiences with these shipping companies.
