Yamamoto wacky rigged consitently was my goto bait for big bass. I'd always have at least 3 rods rigged up with something different and 9 times out of 10...Yamamoto came through in the clutch.

I'll be heading to Vietnam for a few weeks in January. I'll be staying in the Saigon/Binh Doung area. Any tips on how I can do some fishing over there? Do I need a license? I was there a year ago and saw alot of people fishing with bamboo poles. Any help would be appreciated and I'll report back with my findings. My goal is to catch whatever is "The Fish" in trophy size range...gotta feeling it'll probablly be a snakehead.

Nice.It's great you put it in words to be able to look back on. All the little details usually fade with time. I felt like I was fighting that fish reading that story. There's no better feeling of the final triumph when the fish is is hoisted securely out of the water, especially after a battle like the one you described. I recently was picked as a finalist in a contest that asked to describe your dream. I submitted a story that closely mirrors your epic catch but I only had 500 spaces to tell my story and had to be very breif. Anyways thanks for your story...it's a classic

Hello all you fellow fishermen and ladies. I figure I'd join this site to learn all I can about bass fishing. I think I do pretty good but I 'm far from mastering bass fishing. I do alot of bass fishing at some local ponds near by and those have been great in my learning how,when and what bass are most eager to be taken. I hope I can learn and share with others. My ultimate dream is to catch and release a trophy bass in each of the 50 states and have a picture of each to be able to look back on it.
