  3. Im going fishing in the morning on Harris Lake here in NC. Has anybody around NC fished this lake recently? Its supposed to be 30 degrees in the morning and warm up to mid 50's and Im assuming water temp is around 48-50. Any suggestions on what to tie, location, what to look for? Thanks, Ill try to put up a report sometime tomorrow.
  4. Thanks for all the info guys. Im gonna give this thing a good shot because if i like it, im gonna pick up a few more. Ill gladly pay under $100 for a good rod.
  5. I recently got a Bionic Blade rod from Bass Pro. I had a gift card and i needed another rod so i figured I'd try this one since I've read plenty of good reviews. I know its not the top of the line but when I got my rod it doesn't seem to have alot of backbone or power. I ordered a medium heavy and i have several other MH rods and this one seem almost like a medium. Does anybody know anything about the BPS Bionic Blades? If so please let me know. Thanks.

Go with Costa. I have the Brine with the 580p amber lenses and i absolutely love them. So light you can hardly tell your wearing them and the polarization is superior to anything I've every wore. And on top of that Costa stands behind all their products with a great warranty. You will not be disappointed with Costa.
  7. Thanks for the response! That helps
  8. Get a 6 pack, take your line pick (you'll need it), and sit out there and practice. Play with your reel settings until it feels comfortable. Thats what I had to do and I am still, by no means, good at it.
  9. Im looking at getting a new rod and i need some help. Ive never really fished with abu rods but everybody i talk to says they are a great rod for the money. Im looking for something thats good quality at a reasonable price, and im not set on Abu rods so if you guys know another quality brand please let me know. My question is what do you think of the Abu rods like the veritas and vendetta? Ive read the reviews on TW and both seem to be very well liked. What do yall think?
  10. We all know that the Alabama rig works and works well. But as with alot of lures that become very popular, over time bass will become aware of that lure type if everybody and their brother is throwing it. I personally think that this is the reason that the Alabama rig works so well right now, because they have never seen anything quite like this set up before. But what do yall think is the future of the A-rig? Do you think it will eventually become less productive? What do yall think?
  11. Ok guys, im hitting a lake here in NC tomorrow about mid-morning. Its supposed to be mid 50's and clear. I expect the water temp to be around 50 as well. Here is the question........Im taking 5 rods, what do i tie on? I have a jig and pig on one, and a jerkbait on one as well........what other baits/lures should i tie on? Thanks
  12. If you have another favorite lure(s) I didn't list, just reply and tell us.
  13. Hey guys, I plan on fishing right through the winter, or at least until my casts start bouncing. What can I do to prepare my boat (mainly my outboard) for fishing in cold weather and cold water? I don't really want to winterize it because I'll use it pretty often, but is there anything I need to do different when its out of the water and in really cold overnights? Thanks
  14. Alright guys heres the deal, Here recently Ive been in a fish catching slump. I fish mostly NC lakes (norman, hickory, jordan, harris, falls) and with in the past couple weeks i have been having the worst luck. Ive tried every thing i can think of to tie on, every strategy, every location. Im out of ideas. I know the fall of the year the fish get more active and start feeding heavier to prepare for the upcoming colder weather. I know fishing in the fall can produce a lot of fish. Ive always known bass to like faster presentations this time of year and I will usually throw topwater early and then move to cranking after a while. There has got to be something that I'm doing wrong or not doing and I cant figure it out. What is everybody catching them on and where? Any suggestions? Thanks P.S. - Keep in mind I have pretty basic electronics. No side imaging, gps, or other fancy gadgets.
