Lake pickthorne is a really small lake surrounded by an accessible levee all the way around and a few docks near the boat launch. It's between Jacksonville and Cabot if that's not too far for you. You have to get off in Jacksonville and take the feeder road towards Cabot, pay close attention or you'll definitely pass it.
That's a black perch, retarget pretty huge in NW Louisiana, esp below the spillway on lake Bistineau when it's really cold. I don't know if I've seen one that size personally though. The state record is six pounds flat.
