  1. I use Round Bend Offset for Smaller Worms like zoom finesse worms, and ewg for larger profile like brush hogs.
  2. Anyone have any info on current water clarity or levels? Will be out Thursday - Sunday.
  3. You can also bite off a 1/4" or so from the head removing all of that mangled plastic if its causing you issues after a fish or two. Makes the plastic go further.
  4. New to me. Would be worth the drive north just to tangle with one =)
  5. I have a club tournament coming up there in September. I was hoping someone could share some information about the lake. Its a 2 day tournament and I will be able to practice for 2 days as well. Was hoping to eliminate some water by maybe getting the low down on some of the more productive areas of the lake. I have never been on the Alabama River period, so I am also an interested in the general water clarity. I have been on the Coosa a few times so using that as a comparison would work nicely. Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Matt
  6. It looks good on my St Croix too. =)
  7. Keep in mind snook is closed until late 2013
  8. It Is quite possible mine had some defect. The lock on the vbs side was gritty and did not have that positive locking click. Anyway here is a nice review of the Curado G : http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocuradog.html. It shows what Hooligan is talking about it being not sold as an upgrade but more the next evolution. They are probably still the best 149 reel around.
  9. This is my own personal opinion, your mileage may vary. I am a die hard shimano curado fan. I purchased one of the G models and took it out for a day on the water. I returned it when i got back. The side plate on mine popped open twice during a casting. Also I couldn't seem to fine tune the cast control like I can on my E models. If you own any E models I think you will be disappointed with the G. I recommend you read lots of reviews on the new G before making your purchase. They are not an upgrade from the E. That being said they are still a great real in that price range, but i guess i was spoiled by the E series. I purchased a Cronarch 201e and never looked back at the G.
  10. What type of line. If it is F/C perhaps the line didn't lay on spool correctly and subsequent loops cut it.
  11. I came in 4th in a tournament on Lake Eufuala last saturday fishing a single sandy\muddy point. The fish were supsended about 12 feet in 18 feet of water. I worked a 5xd almost like a jerkbait. Lots of starting / stopping. Worked like a charm even though i was never diggin into the bottom. I guess the stopping is much like the hitting a rock and stopping.
  12. Also what brand/ model of reel are you using. Spincast, Spinning, or baitcaster?
  13. X9 Bluegill. Also Sunfish, Shellcracker, Bream. Alltough since joining this site I have amended my southron ways and typiclly call them by the proper names now.
  14. An Umbrella Rig on a 'trap.
  15. I love my Shimano Sahara 2500
