I am sure one of the other guys are more qualify to answer the question for you. I am still a newbee as well. ^^
I am shopping for an all purpose rod for a family member as well. This combo is over your budget, but you are getting a very nice setup.

Hi Micro,
Yes, I am. This set up is for my dad, I am trying to get him out of the house and enjoy the nature. Ever since he retired, he just sit around at home and watch TV all day. Doctor told him, he needs to go out more, so I tho about taken him out for fishing.
what about this setup?

Shimano® Curado® E, with Shimano® Crucial® Trigger Rods. Would you guys consider this setup if I would fish with only 1 rod?
Looking to spent 300-350 bucks in total for a setup. If not, how would guys spent the money?
Yep.
That is not right. Sure... you can save all the hassle, but if it was really a defected rod then you are in titled to a replacement. It's not about the $50.
It is a less of a hassle by paying the 50 bucks look all the trouble RoLo went through. You would not able to get a replace rod if company denies your claim. Personally, I think this policy needs to be looked at because it doesn't make sense.

The only question I have is where is it stated that after the rod is subject to a warranty claim, it is no longer eligible for the Xpeditor Service?
However, rod failure was not due to neglect, wear or tear, and was not an accident.
Incidentally, you don't speak with Loomis anymore, the caller ID was "Shimano America".

Yeah, ouchie...loomis's rod is not cheap, I would probably fainted if I was you...
I went to the expo this year, but didn't buy anything. It was a waste of time for me, and probably not going back next year.
Anyone that have attened have actually bought anything? I can find better deals online than what they have listed.
nothing a few trips to the range and a few hundred rounds can't correct. LOL.
HaHa...Probably need to spend few hundred on the ammos before I can shoot a 8 on the target.
Thank you so much for the help Micro. I think I will go back to the range tomorrow, and play with the beretta a bit more.
I kind of like the springfield, the looks is very appealing to me. Probably not a gun I should buy right now, since I can't even aim it right.
Micro,
Do you like the Beretta .45acp apx4 storm F or G? Saleman highly recommended to me over the 92fs, but it is more expensive. Any thoughts on this?
