  1. Yeah, I saw someone carrying a kabar utility knife. That's like 7" blade I believe, and never took it out to use it. He had a small multi tool in the pocket for whatever.
  2. Yeah. I was the first one posted on luck, but got grilled on. Hey, at least I have learned my lesson.
  3. Every time I go out to the lake, and I saw at least 1 person carrying a big utility knife. Anyone else brings them to a fishing trip? and what do you use it for?

    Tax refund

You can do a deduction on your 15% self employment tax. 50% of it.
  5. Those "chinese" joke gets old. I am sure everybody has something in the house that is made in China. By the way, nice carp.
  6. I park at my friend's house, and it 15 minutes walk from the river.
  7. I am currently fishing from shore, but looking to buy my first boat this year.
  8. I am glad your 20 dollars reel hold up for the day. I had my numbers of cheap rod/reels from Wal-Mart, and they works pretty good until you hooked a giant. Speaking from personal experience, I was fishing at the peer and hooked something pretty decent. But I never get to see it, the d**n reel stopped working. And once I opened it up trying to figure out what's wrong, one of those bearing just broke into 3 pieces. Now, I still can't afford very nice stuff but I will use something that will bring in a good size fish. With good maintenance each year, a 100 dollars reel should last you a long time.
  9. Anyone received their refund back yet? I filed back in March 2nd, and still waiting for my money so I can buy more fishing stuff... ;D
  10. I have done a numbers of fishing trips off shore for Sea bass, dolphins, etc. And they are fighters, 2500 series reels are not going to do the job for you. I agree with Sirsnookalot, that Pflueger President xt would be a good choice for you. I use 15 pound monofilament line tie on to a 3-foot 40 pound fluorocarbon leader for most of my salt water fishing.
  11. Dick's has a sale this week for Senko, you can get 2 packs for $10.
  12. Yeah, fishing for bass at centennial lake is not easy but you can still catch them. Some spots are filled with crappie and trout fishmen, it will be impossible to fish if you dont get some action early in the morning. I have been doing pretty good catching small mouth at a Patapsco, you might want to give that a try.
  13. Crappie is more easier to catch than Bass. My wife likes to fish crappie since she wont have to move around too often, and use 4-5 different setups. All we really need is 2-3 decent UL setup, slip bobber, sinker, number 8 hook, and 2 dozen of minnows. We will have a great time, and crappie taste pretty good.
  14. well, here is the results... Weapon of choice: power bait. I got 2nd place...hehe!!!
  15. I'm in.
  16. Japan...Sushi...live fish?
  17. My walmart had a open box revo for 50 something, but missing the original box, etc. so didn't buy it.
  18. I have caught few decent size fishes with SK lipless crank, and 5 inch Senko.
  19. I have good days and bad days. Probably average out at 1 lure per trip.
  20. wow...
  21. darn it. My berkley scale is all messed up... I weighted 10lb weight, and the scale reads 11.2. Then on 5lb weight, it read 6.1. Man, this is not a 4lb fish...I was getting so excited...
  22. 4 on weightless wacky, 1 on t-rig senko, 1 on swimming senko 1/8 bullet weight. Centennial lake
  23. well, i guess stop and go doesn't work from bank huh? haha
  24. My crank/lipless keep getting caught up between rocks today, and I have lost 2 cranks + a lipless. Since I fish from the bank, is there a way to prevent that from happening?
  25. haha, yeah. my Berkley scale "should be" ok...I hope...maybe I should take it to walmart and weight some stuff.
