  1. My wife and I usually have fun by competiting against each other, and somehow she usually wins... Lol! And I won't wanna sleep in the basement for a week! Haha.
  2. It hurts, isn't it? haha!!!
  3. So, I took my wife out for a fishing trip and along the way she wants me to explain, “Why do you need 20 different lures to catch bass?” Long store short, she wants to start a little competition. She is going to use worms plus Jigs, and I can use all the lures in my tackle box. Well, the trip went on for about 5 hours and she actually out fished me 3 to 1. And then, she went on about stop spending hundreds on lures that you don’t need. That was the longest 20 minutes ride back home, but she did bring up a valid point. I was throwing jerk baits, lipless, SK 1.5, spinner baits, etc. But she did out fish me with just a pack of zoom trick worm, and ONE northstar Jig/baby craw. What do you guys think? Do we really need all those lures? I really would like everyone’s input on this, thanks.
  4. It depends on the water temperature, if it's a warm day then I will use jerk baits. On the opposite, if it's cold then jigs.
  5. I can’t speak about other forums, since I didn’t join any other than BassResource.com. It made me keep coming back because of our helpful members; we have a great group of bass fisherman here. Every time I have a question, it is usually answered the same day plus more. The forum is very well administered by our moderators, and I enjoy the atmosphere (it feels you are welcomed). I have made some friends who share the similarly interest, and great discounts from the sponsors.
  6. I have caught them on SK 1.5 crankbaits, and largest I have caught is a little over 15". They do taste pretty good..haha!
  7. Nice fish. What trailer is that?
  8. I have seem you have moved up Goose...nice fish!
  9. haha, my first Jig was from wal-mart and I believe it's caleld "Arky" Jigs. They are great for starter, you can get them on sale for $99 cents and they have 10 trailers for $1.29. Man, I can't remember how many Jigs I have lost when I first started Jig fishing
  10. For someone who is just starting out in Jig fishing, I would say just go grab a few of each northstar Jigs and try it out. Once you have developed confidence in Jig fishing, and then go break out different types of Jigs. I have started out on Arky Jigs to fish every type of structures, and had some success. I didn’t start buying other type of Jigs until this year, and I still fish Arky head the most. In the end, best advice is just to go out and fish those Jigs. Everyone has their own preference on different type of jig heads, and you will develop your own favorite once you are comfortable with Jig fishing.
  11. I am seriously, maybe it is the way I fish or something. I have caught fish on every other baits, except for spinnerbait. Which size do you usually fish with? and do you put on a trailer?
  12. That works, how do I found out which lure drops 1 foot per second?
  13. Is there a way to found out the depth of ur lake without a depth finder? I have been trying to google maps, but had no luck at all.
  14. Never caught any fish on a spinner bait, so I have already given up. Maybe I will get a few of the northstar's spinner and give it a try.
  15. Already caught a few 4lber on the Northstar finess Jigs, and going to try the hair Jigs next.
  16. I can say 90% of the time I don’t get my snagged lures back, and other times I will just snap it few time on a lose line. Usually I will lose 1-2 lures per outing, and it tops off at 4 Jigs during a 6 hour trip (which is not bad). If you are afraid to lose your lures, then just fish plastics since worm hooks are cheap and they do produce fish.
  17. sorry for the late replay, I am actually going to OC tomorrow and going off shore with my wife and kids.
  18. This is a personal preference; I like using lures because it is more fun for me and don’t need to take a minnow bucket everywhere. I do fish with live baits from time to time, when I fish for crappies and walleye. Don’t worry about what other peoples think, just go out and have fun. I don’t intend to over complicate things, so I do what feels right.
  19. are we still going, if not, I am going to OC this weekend for some off shore fishing?
  20. Aight, time to pick up a few.
  21. Just one question, do they have anymore for sale? hahahaha
  22. I live 5 minutes from a private pond, and the owner asked the DNR to come out for free assessments. The pond is only 2.5acres, and he has tons of bass in there in the 1-2lber range. He didn’t tag any bass in the pond. But DNR recommended removing of 50 bass, then stock smaller shiners and crawfish. I am sure if you have to pay DNR to get it stock, or they will do it for free. And this year, we have caught few 3lbers in there.
  23. I do enough fishing with KVD 1.5, but not happy with the hook quality. It got all rusty after few outings, but I do catch fish on them. Going to try KVD 1.0 next year after the new product release, hopefully they have a better hook on those.
  24. Definitely stained water, but not muddy. If I was fishing clear water, then need to bring out 4-6lb line and be very quiet. Not the way I want to fish.
  25. Happy birthday RW.
