  1. Try those new Jigs from NorthStar, you can flip and swim using the same Jig. Put on different trailers, and give it a go. Had a great season last year with those Jigs.
  2. 20lb PowerPro for spinning gears, and I will use leader if fishing clear water. But mostly, just straight braid and never seem to have any issues.
  3. 9mm is a find round, but if you really want to put someone down, Then consider a shotgun with double oo buck shot, but hopefully you dont ever need to use it.
  4. I have few K-bars, they are very sharp knives and made in the USA.
  5. There isn’t much you can do if fishing from shore, either walk to the opposite direction or start swimming. But losing 4-5 worm hooks in few hours is not too bad, try some weedless worm hooks and I rarely get a snap on them.
  6. A little over 5lb on a 5 inch senko in watermelon.
  7. I have never tried it on Braided lines, since it is casting quiet well already. Maybe, I should give it a try.
  8. My local walmart have few rage craw products in 2-3 different colors, and they are just in plaint plastic bags. It goes for 3.50/bag, I am sure walmart won't sell knock off stuff.
  9. I use this http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Tackle-Storage/Tackle-Bags%7C/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104619780/Cabelas-XPGreg-Pro-Series8482-Angler-Pack/704805.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1100378%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104777280&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104777280%3Bcat104619780 Or a fly fishing vest would do the trick as well
  10. You need to give out more details; I wouldn't fish heavy structures with 20lb braided lines.
  11. Stanley sells their own hook made for the frogs, and I have been using them for the past few seasons. Give it a try.
  12. Swim Jigs, KVD 1.5, Senko
  13. if you can rent a boat for $30 bucks, and I used to catch all kinds of stuff in there. Bass, crappie, pikes, and a very large cat(broke my line). You should be able to land some nice size crappies if you fish under the bridge, and trout magent works great there. if you are on foot, then there is parking before you hit the bridge and there are decent amount of bass of both sides.
  14. I guess super tuning is for BC reels only? can you super tune a shimano spinning reel? and how much would it cost for shimano citica to be tuned? sorry for highjacking your thread.
  15. Hell yeah, NORTHSTAR Jigs owns!!!
  16. I lose most of my Jigs, before I can retire them. The oldest one I am still using landed more than 30+ fish, and it is still going.
  17. Great write up, thanks. Someone else said it already, but chase the bait fish in the fall and you will catch them.
  18. yeah, sure. I will stop fishing because I can get skin cancer from sun light as well, ohh please...
  19. Rattle helps in stain water; I have actually dropped a Jig without rattles. Then pitched a Jig with rattles to the exact same spot, but it is muddy water. I couldn’t tell any difference when fishing clear lakes, so it depends on where you fish.
  20. I started with a spinning setup for soft plastics, and you can start from there. Then build up your own inventory as you go, and figure out your own fishing style. Some folks prefer Jig, others like cranks. Do you need 8-10 rods to catch bass, probably not? Personally, I have 5 setups. Most productive setup for me is 6’6 spinning for plastic, and 7’ MH for Jig/swim jig.
  21. Gman's Fav
  22. I have never fished a tournament, but here is a list of my most productive soft plastics: RageTail Baby Craw; T-rig with a small bullet weight Yamo. Senko 5’; wacky Stanley topwater frogs; size 4 hook Rage Tail Craw: pitch or flip on a Northstar Jig Zoom grub: trailer or use it on a small Jig head Zoom trick worm: Drop shot, or T-rig Zoom Finesse worm: Wacky and weightless Robo worm: Drop shot Bite it Trick stick: Wacky
  23. Nah, it shouldn't. My co-worker lives right by the lake, and he fished it everyday. He is able to pick up a few, but nothing big.
