  1. looks like this weekend things should start to warm up a little. Sampsons Pond in Carver gave up some huge bags last Sat. 3 over 15 lbs and at least 3 fish over 5lbs. Boat deal is in the works for me and should be ready to rock in less than a month. in the mean time if anyone is looking for a fishing buddy for a day I'm available Sundays and Mondays. Once the boat is ready I'll be sure to post any time I have an empty seat also.
  2. sounds like you need to clean your carbs and set your linkage. if you have a repair manual and follow directions it's isn't too bad to do yourself. if you're not inclined to do it yourself shouldn't be more than a couple hundred at the mechanic. make sure whoever is fixing it will run it in the water and make sure it is good.
  3. sounds like the south shore is all set. fished John's in Mashpee last Sunday with some huge picks(one over 5 lbs) but no bass. The week before was Santuit. Managed two on the jerkbait there. Will be at Tispaquin in Middleborough for a tournament this Sunday. So glad that the weather is finally starting to change.
  4. any mercury dealer will gladly charge you a few hundred a piece for them. you can get them cleaned for far less
  5. looks to be that same as the pro lite special except available in different ratios. I have the pro lite special and was not happy with how it casts. I found that I was able to clip off two of the centrifugal brake tabs by pulling the out with tweezers and snipping. now the reel casts very well, especially with light baits. It currently sits on my jerkbait rod.
  6. Dual Pro all the way, also make sure you get one that is 10 amps per battery,
  7. I will be out for this one. Tuna bite has been real good lately! Somehow the salt always wins me over. If there is anything for october might be able to finally make one.
  8. been away for a few weeks catching stripers, good bite going on in alot of places. I would be down for something mid sept.
  9. that works for me if someone has an open boat seat. I am free on the 26th of august if that is the weekend decided on, wasn't sure wether grampa was talking dates or the 3rd or 4th weekend. side note: I will be at Whitmans pond in Weymouth monday with a friend if anyone else has the day off and wants to meet up.
  10. I would be in for either of those if I can hitch a ride with someone. unfotunately life has gotten in the way of me buying a boat this year. would be nice to get in on one of these and meet a few of the other guys(only met grampa).
  11. sounds like you have a few things going on there. I will start with you ignition. you have the wrong switch for that motor. that motor harness has 6 wires in it. some may or may not be used. they go on the proper switch in the following manner. red wire goes to the B or + terminal, black wire goes to the M or - terminal, the black with yellow or white stripe goes to the big M terminal(this is usually a big round terminal that does not look like any of the others), the plain purple goes to the I or A teminal, the purple/white stripe goes to the C terminal, the yellow/red stripe goes to the S terminal, there may also be a gray and a brown wire in the harness also, the gray would be the signal wire for a tachometer and the brown wire would be signal for the overheat alarm. I hope this helps, more than happy to help with any other questions you may have.
  12. anyone free next monday, I got the day off and was trying to get some guys together for a little fun. might have two or three other friends(boaters) interested depending on location.
  13. that motor weighs 390. it can be removed without a lift but I wouldn't recommend it. if you have to do it you unbolt it and balance it on the lower end so you can slowly lower the heavy end to the ground. I would recommend having 3 guys present for this. also if you need parts for this the shop I work at has a large supply of older evinrude/johnson parts. Ryan
  14. the key word you used here is BOAT. boats are a luxury item and they come with a luxury price. when you think of a 65000 bass boat you need to compare them with a top of the line sports car to make the playing field even. I get what you're saying that as Americans we pay way to much for things in general but as long as the money spending public continues to buy at these prices we are stuck with it.
  15. I wasn't sure if you still had the open seat or I would have made the trip. ended up getting a 3lber at the pond down the street from shore this morning so it wasn't a complete wasted day. anyone fishing tomorrow? I was almost thinkg about hitting the canal for some stripers.
