Only one downside to fishing in college, I will not be eligible to fish in any tournements....that's sum bs, especially when i'm going to be a veteran.
I also fish the lakes in NC, oh yes structure is the main reason for big bass. Chatter baits also have more vibration and can trigger a bass more so than a spinnerbait, then again it's all about preception. Fish both of them one day you're out on the lake then ask yourself the same question.
I would watch the banks and do a little sight fishing on the areas where bass prestage to spawn, usually I watch the female and male make a bed and the spawn is during that time..you have to be on the look out and know your body of water by map to figure out where the bass would spawn or should I say their pattern.
I don't think the water temp from the discharge is gonna attract bass. I still think IMO bass still follow their seasonal patterns, but you will see a lot of baitfish around.
Well with the spring comming around it is in good conception that the lakes/ponds are full for best results of the spawn...despite the droughts bass will still spawn. For the fish to grow healthy bass rely on the lakes/ponds to fill for good resource of food and the natural food chain to take it's place. High water levels are great start of the spring/summer the bass will stay healthy and so will their meal.
I agree, especially if you know it's a good spot. I always go to the spots I know hold fish and a lot of cover, even then I get stumped and I have to much confidence so I spend to much time on one spot trying to find a bait that works.
I use the quantum notebook,it's like keeping the baits in the original bag they came in except it's much easier and faster to use than if you were to leave them in the original bag.
Well it could be bad and good, to much running off the bank can pollute your pond causing unwanted bacteria and unwanted viruses. Good, cause it's good ferterlizer for the fround surrounding the pond. If it gets out of hand Game and Wildlife officer could be contacted. Also baby geese are on the menu for big bass .
It depends, if you are out there to have fun...no I wouldn't. If you are out to catch fish, yes, but just cause your friend is catching them doesn't always mean you will do the same, I have been out with a buddy of mine throwing the same exact bait and "nadda", it's always good to get the feel for yourself.
I'd say florida would get the answer for your question, reason being florida stays warm all year round for the most part, and bass fishing is really insane in FL.
Agreed. You just have to know how to follow the plankton and baitfish, what I do is get on a point or cove that is protected by the wind and cast into the wind, usually get productive bites or catch.
