  1. It will be patient and it will def. pay off.
  2. As far as movement is concernd here is my 2 cents. Bass will move during weather changes and temperature changes, barometric pressure included. Not ALL bass are the same but most of this species follows a pattern depending on the time of year. I have seen monsters caught on a warm day in shallow water when it has been in the 30's-40's and that one warm front comes in and some bass will move from the depths to the closest shallow water and will feed on what they can it's like a hit or miss. You have to think a bass in cold water isn't going to use up it's energy to chase a bait that's why angler's like us fish slow during the cold. And I do agree about the bass moving horizontal then vertical...but that just may be the movement not the actual bite. The most important thing you need to take in effect is seasonal pattern and go off what you learn about pattern, everything else will fall into play, that's my 2 cents hope it helps. -Andrew
  3. Muddy water: colorado blade spinner bait white skirt Lizards: watermelon and blk flake or pumpkinseed Crankbait: 50-60 degree water: shallow diving, color depends on the season you said summer so I would go with siliver and black.70-75 degrees 5-10 ft cranks same color. Carolina-rigged double ringer, zoom makes them they are awsume
  4. Slow and slow fishing techniques.
  5. So I went to a friends pond, it's a pond in his appartment complex...most of the bass were already off the beds, in Jacksonville,FL. Condition was rainy and chilly, anyways I got my first bass of the year of a jig and my first ever jig-bass...had on a female approx 5lbs she did manage to surface throwing my jig out of her mouth....poor hook set. I'm still lesrning how to set the hook when a female on a bed bites...I have always rememberd on bass shows or tournements when the pro watches the line and that was my mistake, I was waiting on a thump.
  6. For B.A.S.S. it's an age limit to fish tournements and to be eligible.
  7. My input, Camel back which holds about a gallon of water on your back all you have to do is suck on the tube. Nuts and jerky hold lots of protein....and potassium which is the main ingredients for your body while you are burning calories by standing and or while the sun hits you. Soda is a no-no because if sodium and carbonation will dehydrate you fast.
  8. cool pic's coloration is not just a trait it's the animals adaptation to their enviornment.
  9. What about the eye color? Dark brown to light brown?
  10. You need to fish that one point sticking out...look for beds come april. Pond fishing in my opinion is different then lske fishing, not by much because bass still use a pattern. You should fish the pond the next warm day you have. Lures: carolina-rigged lizard, buzzbait and or spinnerbait/charturse or white Shallow diving crankbaits
  11. Find out who runs the lake (ex. city/county) get a permit.
  12. You have to think, are you going to fish for fun or for $. If it's just for fun then it may be to windy in thus conditions. You can almost any and occasion beat the wind by fishing coves and or points protected by the wind.
  13. About a week for the tree to sink, water logged takes a longer process then you think. Give the tree a good year in water and it will be fully water logged.
  14. Stay in deep water that goes shallow farley quick...or vise versa. Try to find flats and or a creek channel that goes shallow. Lures: Deep diving cranks;color: crawfish red or brown. Jig drop offs or off of structure.
  15. Thanks for agreeing Gents...it's def. true...Go Big or Go Home
  16. B.A.S.S. And state wildlife Magizine
  17. Let me fill you in on a top secret...and I do mean TOP...use an alkazelser in your jig when the bass will not hit anything...this technique will work. Since crawfish have to breathe they cause bubbles so the alkazelser causes this mimic action...(you only need about 1/2 of the alkazelser) and it's harmless.
  18. Do some research on the internet...I don't wanna give you sites cause im not trying to advertise.
  19. If there ever is a ban of lead, a lot of companies are gonna have to switch to a better alternative and besides tungston...hmmm.. there are other elements that aren't hazardous to the enviornment.
  20. Wait til the ice melts, you won't find many bass shallow in freezing water.
  21. First off if a map is avalible I will try to get a topo map of the lake, if a Topo map isn't aplicable I will look for structure or fish off points, it also depends on the weather and what season you begin to fish on. I look at the birds on the back or in the water feeding and most always fish trees that submerge into deep water or shallow water dropping into deep water. You can't go wrong with fishing a point with a carolina rig.
  22. You can on your own it's not hard just need to leave the one on the console and get a transducer for the front of the boat.
  23. yeah im pretty sure you're being monitored too
