  1. I use a regular Gammie drop shot / split shot hook, size 1. Nose hook the bait, works just fine.......
  2. Yea, I don't like them having a break either. I hope they can stay sharp in some way.....IMHO that's what cursed the Sens last year in the Cup finals, that lay-off took them out of their groove and they lost the series.
  3. Adding another GO PENS!
  4. I liked the new episodes. Unfortunately I did not get to see the whole second episode that was on last night. What happened, anything worth staying up for?
  5. What tournament and where is it? Bay or lake?
  6. French Creek huh? That's just about in my backyard....... I have had success on 4" senkos, Zoom superflukes, 3-4 inch tubes weighted with a 1/16 or 1/8 head, Rapala stickbaits in shad patterns, grubs weighted with light head like already mentioned. Where you floating from and to?
  7. Many members here always mention how many young people read this forum. I would be embarassed to allow my child to read the replies that speak so unfavorably of law enforcement officers. I'm out :-X
  8. That's worded strange. Sounds like you can't use more than one rod. Or you can't use a 3 way swivel type rig. :-/ Or you can use two rods with single hooked baits or one with more than one. :-/ Yea that is worded strange, and could be taken to mean a lot of different things, but 1. how many people, especially college students like myself, will take the time to read every little detail of a fishing regs book? 2. even if it is an actual fishing rule, i shouldn't have to go to court for something like that. I didn't realize it originally but you are correct, the wording is vague. As far as having to go to court, it may be something in NY's rules of criminal procedure that require you to go. Are you a NY resident? Sometimes out of state residents have to appear in person maybe? Just guessing......
  9. Bro, I did a quick check of NY regs on-line, I quickly found the reg you were cited for. I'm assuming you were fishing a Finger Lakes Tributary. Here's a link to the page on-line: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/31417.html Under the section "Additional Regulations for Finger Lakes Tributaries" it clearly states 4. Use of more than one line with a single hook point is prohibited, except for those stream sections listed below. It goes on to state exactly where the above rule applies since it does not apply everywhere. You need to examine your situation closely and determine if you were wrong before you decide to fight the matter in court. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with your situation since I don't have enough information to make such a judgement. Best of luck.
  10. Pens 2 Ottawa 0 so far! GO PENS!
  11. Any of you guys heading to Pymatuning are gonna be shocked. I was there Monday, it's like 3 feet or more high. I have never seen it as high as it is now. Water is over most of the ramps. The high water certainly provides alot of cover to fish but in alot of places you can't get to where the water ends. This Spring should be pretty fun there
  12. Pymatuning is open year round because of multi-state jurisdiction. There's alot of tournaments there till June.
  13. Size 1 Gammie drop shot hook.
  14. That's a toad! What did it weigh?
  15. IMHO, your question should probably be directed to a biologist.
  16. Suspending jerkbait. Work it eratically, alter your pauses to long or short dependng on how the fish are reacting. Maybe also try a soft stickbait like a senko. One wiggling down in front of their face may be too much for them to take.
  17. Yep, what Ohio said. You will see some early spawners in mid May...
  18. For Lm or Sm?
  19. I think your already headed in the right direction. You defiantely HAVE to know what the water temp is. That will often dictate where you find fish this time of year. Find the warmest water around spwaning areas and cover water. Once you find em, you'll find em! Just a quick side note, fish your confidence baits or presentations. If you like a spinnerbait and have confidence in it then fish it! Don't let the "the fish are too pressured" mindset throw you off your game. I fish a lake MUCH smaller than the ones you are, this lake has at least 5-7 tournaments EVERY weekend day from mid April through early June. I always do well there, I just love fishing this lake, does not matter how many tournaments are going on. I adjust and catch em! Best of luck!
  20. YEAH! Finally the new season, I'm tired of watching old episodes. Crazy thing is that just yesterday my wife asked me when the new shows would be on, she has become addicted too. She likes when Sid Hanson is crabby with the crew.
  21. I carry concealed often, mostly due to my occupation and the people I run into when not working. My favorite carry gun is my Kel-Tec PF-9, what a great little gun! I also have a small Glock, I don't carry that gun too much anymore since the PF-9 is soo light. As always, BE SAFE and SMART, when carrying!
  22. [so mostley it's to keep all the cry babies happy.
  23. Only area that had ice yesterday was Marina Lake, everything else is ice free. Oh...... there are fish biting
  24. I have one about 60 miles away, it's actually the closest store of it's kind to me, a trip to Dicks or Gander Mountain is about the same distance. The SW here is pretty good and like already mentioned, they have alot of stuff, much more than a Wal-Mart, Dicks, GM, but less than Bass Pro. All in all I like the store and am glad at least there is one fairly close.
  25. AMEN bizz...........My family owns a tract of land here in NW PA. We / I really don't use it for anything other than a little hunting. Anyone that has the decency to ask permission we allow to hunt. Rest of the trespassing bozos get the boot. ASK PERMISSION!
