  1. 3/8 oz Roostertail/white. The smaler bass are chasing the shad on top and the larger ones are under the pod waiting on the stunned easy pickin's to fall out of the pod. I have caught 4 & 5 lbers deep while the ones on top were 1 to 1 1/2 lbers. Cast past the pod of bait and let the inline spinner sink before you reel it back under the baitfish. Kelley
  2. JT, Being new at BFF I haven't read any of your writings yet but am looking forward to it. Kelley
  3. I have modified a lot of my do-it molds with a dremel. It takes a steady hand and only take a little at a time(easy to take out metal but hard to puy iy back). Lay your wire in the position you want and take a sharp tool and mark the mold. Work the mold until you have 1/2 of the wire on one side. Dip the wire in paint, lay it back in the groove, close the mold and you will have the exact alignment for the other side. Work that side untill mold closes and you are finished. Hope this helps. Kelley
  4. Being new on this I can say that RW has been very informative and welcomed me warmly(as well as the rest of the people here). I think this is a great site and RW is way up at toward the top of the list. My hat is off to you. Kelley
  5. Thanks for this topic. I was looking for something like Cooks also. Glad for the review. Found them cheaper than retail at this site AlabamaLakes.com and order two. I am in no way connected to them just thought I might save some of you a few bucks. Kelley
  6. My Brother got me started as soon as I could walk. I was lucky enough to grow up within 50 feet of what Field and Stream wrote in 1958 "The Best Smallmouth Stream in the Eastern United States". I started out with some sewing thread and a bent pin. Caught my first bass(Smallmouth) on a cricket at age 3. I am 62 and have fished all my life(up to now). I Live to FISH. Kelley
  7. Thanks jt. I had a Bullet so I know all about chine walk. Am getting older so decided to go from a sports car to a "Rolls Royce". LOL Kelley
  8. Thanks JTB & JB. This gives me a starting point. I found a lot on Jack Plate adjustment on the web but not much on props. If it is OK I will be picking your brains when I get started on my quest. Thanks again. Kelley
  9. I am taking delivery on a new Triton TR21XDC on the 15th of Feb. Has a 225 Optimax on Jack Plate and a 4 blade stainless prop. Can anyone send me a link to explain how to "Tweak" it to get the most speed out of it. Kelley

  13. Thanks again guys for the warm welcome. YES the BAITMONKEY got hold of me but the good thing is that the BAITMONKEY got my wife too. I was looking at a 186 and she grabs me a said "Wouldn't you rather have this 21". At first I thought I was asleep and having a dream. I must be taking care of my homework right!!!!!! HEE HEE Kelley
  14. Thanks for everone that has extended me a WELCOME and those who still will. DD, Just bought the TR21XDC at a boat show last week. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Kelley
  15. I fish every day there is not ice on the water. I am lucky enough to have a 2 1/2 acre pond about 75 yards from my front door and if I am not at the lake I am at the pond. Kelley
  16. I agree with Road Warrior and Avid. I fished Yatesville Lake in Eastern Kentucky for several years and that Lake was about 8 or ten years old before the DNR introduced shad into it. Kelley
  17. I am new to this forum but not to Bass Fishing. I started fishing as soon as I could walk and caught my first bass at 2 years old(a smallmouth on a cricket). I have been fishing over 62 years and still have the passion I have had all my life. Fishing has cost me several jobs and 2 wifes but I wouldn't change a thing. I recently moved to Southern Illinois from Eastern Kentucky and am getting adjusted to a new area. Did a lot of pond fishing last year but have found a Bass Club in the area and get to get back into tournament fishing. I have sent my entry fee to Bass for the Kentucky Lake Open and am on the waiting list(hope I get in). I am looking forward to learning from this forum as we all know "You can't learn all there is to Bass Fishing". Thanks Glen for letting me join. Kelley
  18. I also need a club. I recently move to Edwards County, IL and would like to get int a club near here. I am retired but love to fish tournaments.
