  1. Looks like it is galvanized which is a plus. Axle has lost cap, replace with bearing buddies, also replace bearings and seals. Replace broken light. Check tires for cracks, if cracked replace. Check axle to see if bent. Get a spare tire. Can you do the repair work? If axle and tires are OK you can probably get by for less than $100.00, excluding spare, if you do most of the work.
  2. Google!
  3. My pardner and I won a local tournament 'deadsticking'. We would locate a large school of shad on the surface, I would throw a 'Trick Stick' and my pardner would throw a jig into the shad and allow the baits to sink and lie there. In less than a minute the line would start moving. We even had several doubles this way. Kelley
  4. I would less GPH pump first. Maybe a 400. Would be less work and if you buy one at WalMart you can take it back for the first 30 days "for any reason".
  5. Take the cable off at the motor and try shifting into reverse at the motor by hand. This will give you more of an idea where the problem. you can do this without the motor started and making sure the key is off(and out of the switch) try to turn the prop by hand. If it spins you got a lower unit problem. If you are mechanically inclined replace the cables yourself. Not all that big a job. Kelley
  6. I need some opinions on trolling batteries. Mine came with my boat and are now 5 yrs old. I know I will have to replace them in the near future so am looking for advice. I religiously charge them as soon as I get to electrical outlet. HELP!!! Kellley

  11. I was giving my boat a spring cleaning getting ready to go to Ky Lake on Road trip. My wife came out to see how I was coming along. While she was there she said "I smell gas". There was strong odor of gasoline in the rod locker and the big locker on the other side of the boat. Checked all the hose and connections from the bulkhead in the battery compartment to the motor and all were dry. Got on the Internet and did some searching and was guided to a couple of forums where some other Triton owners were having the same problem. A couple of them found loose clamps on the Filler Tube. A couple of other guys took them to a shop and were told to just ignore it I found two hose clamps loose on the outlet fitting on the gas tank. Top of tank and around fitting and hose were wet with gasoline. Tightened those clamps and now after a couple days no gas odors. Open those compartments on your boat and ck for fumes. Kelley

  16. Thanks Glenn for the "READ THE FAQ" thread. I think it should be a requirement to join this forum. Kelley
  17. Great Fish Cullin5. I have seriously fished for bass almost 40 years and have only caught 3 over 8. 1 in Kansas farm pond 8lb6oz, 1 at Toledo Bend 8lb6oz, and 1 at Lake Fork(2nd annual Forum Trip) 8lb9oz. Most of my fishing has been North of the Mason-Dixon Line and 8lbers are few and far between. I have 337 over 7, most of them at Toledo Bend. Kelley
  18. These are the days that will be your and your sons memory forever. I started taking my son when I had to carry him. Even now he says "remember when". It always brings a smile to my face. Kelley
  19. Herd me a bunch into a NW cove CJ. Nice fish CJ. Glad you R520dvx and Deb are catching them. Sure makes me miss my place at Eddyville. Congrats Deb on the new bike. Kelley
  20. Glad you and Deb had a GREAT time. Looking forward to fishing down there again. Been 2 yrs since I got the chance. Kelley
  21. Thanks Glenn for starting this thread. I am one of the "Old Farts" and was not aware that the FAQs had been updated. As far as the "Threats" If anyone shows up at Ky Lake with trouble on their mind I will hit them with my cane.
  22. Spare tire, are you are going to trailer the boat any? GET A SPARE. Buy the largest # trolling motor you can afford. The wind plays havoc with a toon.
