  1. Great setup, is it just the pictures or is that reel a little larger than most of the Shimanos
  2. It's been a while since I done it, but I believe that you have to select "Join the Trokar Team" then select "Take the Quiz". See if that gets you anywhere.
  3. I use them for a lot of different applications, I can tell you from my experience that I get quite a few more through the roof and through the gill plate hooksets than I ever had before. Prove it to yourself, do the survey and get a free pack.
  4. It happens, this does not make you a bad angler, just an angler that had a bad day.
  5. Everything is only worth what you can get someone else to pay for it. If you follow that logic, then nothing is overpriced. If we as consumers truely believed as a whole that something was overpriced and did not pay for it, what option would the mfg. have other than to stop production or lower the price. When we continue to purchase items that are "overpriced" the message sent to the mfg. is that while we may complain a little about the price, we will still get in our pockets and pay to play. I always say get in where you fit in, if you feel it's not worth the money then don't buy it, but don't hate on the other guy because it is something that he enjoys, there is room for everyone.
  6. Edwin Evers was recently signed by Megabass. Most would consider that a sizeable upgrade from the PQ
  7. Contact type baits are where sensitive rods really shine, get which ever feels the most sensitive to you. Jigs are typically fished on rods with a fast or xtra fast action.
  8. A reel with a level wind that disengages during casting is a better choice for throwing light baits.
  9. I use the Winch, it will crank the deepest of cranks with no problem. Oh, and no need to change the handle.
  10. I prefer a slightly shorter rod for throwing frogs since it is a tip down technique. I use the Falcon Cara Jason Christie frog rod, It is a 6'11" H/F rod, I use 65lb braid and it makes walking the frogs and pulling them from cover a breeze. '
  11. I have several that I like to follow, tops for me are KVD, McClelland, Brauer, E2, and Palaniuk. I think most of the guys on the Elite tour are stand up type guys, seems it would be hard to get and keep several sponsors otherwise.
  12. If you want something in the same frame size and better for finesse type presentations, take a look at either the Sol, Fuego, or the Alphas 103 line of Daiwa reels.
  13. Was nice to meet everyone, had a good time fishing despite the weather. We fished areas that in the past have produced well for us, but this was not the case yesterday, we only managed 4 fish, and they were small, we did have a couple come off and and 1 very nice follow from what looked to be at least a 5lb LM. We caught fish on a variety of baits, spinnerbait, jerkbait, jigs, crankbaits but could not find the numbers or size. Thanks again to Blue for putting this together, look forward to the next event.
  14. The short answer is no. The explanation is that the Revo S uses a single piece spool shaft as compared to the SX which uses the Infini II spool design. The length that the pinion gear must travel to enagage the spool shaft pin is different, so the pinion gears are not the same length.
  15. I think this is the same thing RM was saying, but anyway just add a 2144 washer or two and it will fix your problem.
  16. Stricktly prohibited! Fish them any way you like, I would offer this, if you want to fish them on the bottom ,rig the trailer with the tail up if it has one.
  17. There you go! I bet you will be as excited as him when he hooks that first nice one.
  18. Sure they did, who do you think put all the time into providing that information that you researched? They shared it with you and anyone else who was interested. You did take the action to find out for yourself, but why make a friend go through the same thing, share with him what you were able to learn.
  19. Have you by any chance had the handle off the reel? If so check the spring washers and make sure they are oriented like () or )( but not this )) or this ((.
  20. Cool, I respect that. So what your saying is that it would be better to just blow him off and tell him to do a little research?
  21. We all start at about the same place, just ask yourself how you were treated when you were a complete beginner, what did you like, what did you dislike? Helping someone to learn to fish is a very rewarding experience, you should be honored that he trusted/respected you enough to help. The reward and satisfaction that will come your way when he is capable to fish on his own will far outweigh the cost of a senko or two.
  22. Get in where you fit in. There is a line and price point for everyone, use what you are comfortable with, but don't hate on the other guy because he uses something different.
  23. I'm sure he will be able to figure out what his problem was with this sage advice. You sound like that grouchy old man puppet.
