  1. A couple of things that make the Zebco Omega a solid choice is that it uses 6 SS bearings instead of bushings, brass gearing, and has 2 ceramic pickup pins, they also use a great drag system and an oscillating spool. Very solid choice if you are looking for a spincast reel.
  2. Check the pawl cap and make sure it is tight. Make a short cast in the yard and retrieve the line, watching the pawl travel on the worm gear, should tell you if you have a pawl or worm gear issue.
  3. I have it from good sources that you can be bought.
  4. Glenn, it is certainly a double edged sword, it's great that your loyalty is on the right side, but I don't think that was ever even a question. As for your business model, it speaks for itself, I have been apart of several other online forums that have went from productive to being out of business in a short amount of time, this site continues to attract new members so something is working. I think it always generates a few questions when reviews are done for paid sponsors.
  5. Glenn, thanks for the honest answer, and in all due respect You and I both know that you don't cut your own throat in the business world.
  6. design, materials, and tolerance. There are some higher quality spincast reels that are very good.
  7. Check your guides
  8. I want to know why all the hype with the Pinnacle gear. Please tell me, are you purchasing this gear with your own money an then providing reviews, or is this equipment provided by someone free or at a discounted price? I feel like this is a fair question, as it should be revealed in any review if the reviewer is sponsored or otherwise connected with the company .
  9. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/138164-why-does-it-seem-nobody-else-is-using-nanofil/?hl=nanofil I think this link will get you to the last thread where this line was discussed.
  10. If you search for Nanofil you should find a recent discussion about the line, have to warn you up front, the results were less than positive.
  11. What do you like about the Powell better than some of the rods you previously owned. What is it about the Inferno that does it for you. Most of the rods you listed are in the entry level of serious fishing rods, have you had the opportunity to experience any rods towards the middle to upper end.
  12. Glad you found a rod that works for you. What are some of the other rods you have owned?
  13. Ok compare it to the Daiwa T3, on sale now for 198.00 uses the same superior magforce 3D braking system. You are the one who is always spouting about how your Lews reels compare to reels that cost many time more, so which is it?
  14. What kind of distance qualifies as legendary, terms like this mean nothing, put it in usable terms like yards, feet or inches. You also stated many times that you have owned a shop and have serviced reels for 20 years, would that not make you a professional. The new Lews are solid reels, but anything legendary about them died in an airplane crash, they are made by Doyo, plain and simple. You might also want to investigate reels like the Daiwa Z2020 with magforce 3D braking, not exactly a finesse reel, and offers a distinct advantage over static magnetic braking. I will stick by my original statement and say that your judgment is clouded.
  15. Bob, I think you are letting your fondness for the Lews reels cloud your judgment. Comparing anyone's static magnetic braking system to Daiwa's linear Magforce Z or 3D is a losing argument.
  16. Sometimes the fish make us throw what they want to eat instead of throwing what we want them to eat. If that makes sense try something else for a while, maybe get them worked up a bit, then hit them with the Hula.
  17. Nothing wrong with your equipment, I'd say maybe in the future a 7ft + rod of your choice may be a good upgrade. Keep fishing and putting time on the water and it will be easy for you to decide what will enhance your particular fishing style.
  18. No argument there, but wouldn't you agree that when the baitfish are balled up at least a certain percentage of the bass population are dialed in on that available food source.
  19. Both of those are easily remedied with some minor upgrades.
  20. Good looking out...
  21. Being deployed can certainly be challenging, try to keep in mind why you are there and what is being accomplished. Stay positive and make it as enjoyable as possible for yourself and those around you. After 20 years in the Military and being deployed to some very undesirable locations, I look back at it and the bonds that were formed, and it was special. Hang in there, what you are doing is far more important than fishing.
  22. Back in the late 90's I was a partner in a small business, the 1st year we had a difficult time finding wholesalers that would extend us credit in the amount that we would have liked. After the first year and an established credit history, along with the ability of prove our potential earnings, we were extended sickening amounts of credit by multiple lenders, I am very thankful for responsible partners or we could have easily ruined ourselves.
  23. I see your point, there is a difference in the two situations. Thanks for the insight.
