  1. NRX 853 JWR, and a St.Croix LXC70MHF Both very sensitive rods that work well for bottom contact type baits.
  2. Firetiger is a good color in most water conditions.
  3. What production rod do you put in the same class as the NRX for less money?
  4. What you got for 1/2 the price of the NRX that is more sensitive, I'm interested.
  5. Thanks, I was sure that the B represented a revision, but did not know what the EB was in reference to. Thanks for the link.
  6. Thanks, I was wondering if they still had the Cumulus rods.
  7. To me when someone says rock and roll, I think of bands like the Doors, The Who, Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and many many others from what I consider the best era of music ever.
  8. I like some of the Disco music, a couple of bands that come to mind are KC and the Sunshine Band, The Bee Gee's and The Gap Band. There were others that I enjoyed back then, but like most I believe it was probably the worst era for music in a long while.
  9. I was not trying to call you out, thought maybe you knew something I didn't and I had a chance to learn something. That is what makes a place like this great, if we all share what we know, it makes us all a little more knowledgeable.
  10. The Shakespeare 1969 B is a fairly rare reel and was the precursor to the Shakespeare President line of reels, I am trying to research what the model EB was, it was used commonly throughout the Shakespeare line of reel but I have not found out what it indicates.
  11. What did they send you as a replacement?
  12. RH or LH reel? I assume you are wanting to throw bigger, deeper crankbaits with a 7'10" glass rod ?
  13. I understand your example of the wheel bearing. Fishing reels operate a little differently when you tighten the spool tension cap it pushes a shaft through the center of the bearings and creates little to no axial pressure on the bearing itself. The pressure is on both ends of the shaft. You are correct with your warning of over tightening the spool tension knob, there are other parts that can be damaged from this. The spool tension discs can be scored and dimpled which over a period of time will have a negative effect on casting distance and smooth operation.
  14. Lots of round reels still have synchronized level winds, but I have not seen a LP reel with one in a while unless maybe some of the 300 size reels use one. Too much lost energy during the cast.
  15. Please don't take this the wrong way but I am seriously interested in knowing if English is your first language? Your post read almost like someone typed something in their native language and let Google translate it. No offense meant, just interested. I do own a few antique/vintage reels, I will see if I can dig up some pictures.
  16. That's interesting, my stock Zillion cast very good, and when upgraded with a 100M spool it is a casting machine. Do you think that the inductor may have had a problem on your Type-R?
  17. Are you using the same Zillion as everyone else?
  18. They work together to help control spool speed.
  19. Spool tension, did your reel come with instructions?
  20. System of a Down, Disturbed, Tool, and many others are on my playlist, my favorite song by SOAD is Aerials. I have found myself listening to a lot of White Zombie lately.
  21. You find enjoyment in music that by your own words your friends find strange, yet for some reason it moves you. While you don't care for his choice in music maybe you can understand and appreciate the enjoyment that he gets from it. Not all of us appreciate the same things.
  22. Bradshaw/Swan/Stallworth Montana/Rice Marino/Clayton/Duper
  23. I would say to someone who thinks that they are as good or better than an Elite Level Angler "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" go ahead and jump into a FLW, Open, or Elite Level Tournament, if it is as easy as you make it sound you should be rolling in cash in no time. My thought is this, you only reach the pinnacle of any sport by being very very good at what you do.
