  1. So you have not met the Monkey yet. Be afraid, very afraid.
  2. Congrats on the new setup, expect a visit from the Monkey soon.
  3. Good call, I have one of the Red Ltd edition Tatulas, but I like the blue better.
  4. Salt is an electrolyte
  5. As light of a Mono as I think I can get away with.
  6. Maybe if he wins it again this year they will upgrade him to the Zillion.
  7. Daiwa's gift to Randy Howell for winning the Classic
  8. Glad you got my sometimes warped sense of humor.
  9. And I propose Death Race 2000
  10. Yep, that was kind of the point.
  11. I bought a bunch of G series Curado's, nevermind wrong thread....
  12. We are weakening the herd so to speak. 100 years ago or so, before we had a pill or a vaccine for everything that ailed a person, people died, by dying they did not spread as many inheritable diseases. Now we keep people alive longer and they have children, so they combine their chances of having an inheritable disease, and so on and so on... the herd gets weaker and weaker. Natural selection, we have taken it almost completely out of the human equation, good or bad?
  13. Kind of what I was getting at in my example, what determines this point. I have to think it is at least influenced by a persons financial status. I'll give you another what if... Say you had a friend who was a professional athlete, baseball, basketball, football, whatever the case Let's assume he is successful at what he does and makes 10.5 million over the next 5 years. One day your friend says I would like to get into bass fishing and need some help with picking out some gear. You offer to help, so do you A.) Pick out some very usable gear like BPS rod and reels, or based on his financial well being, recommend top shelf items like Gloomis , Daiwa and Shimano?
  14. So something I was thinking about in regards to this thread. Suppose your yearly salary was 250K, would a 10 dollar bait seem expensive? So what about if you made 10-12 dollars an hour. I have to believe that some of what influences our thoughts on value has to do with where we are in regards to our financial situation. In my example the bait stays exactly the same, does your thought about expensive change?
  15. It's a weird thing, as long as you have all of the letters in the word you can arrange them any way you like, most people will still be able to read it. ese hwat I eman.
  16. TI ondt ttmaer ohw ouy selpl tihngs osmt oelepp nca gfireu uot tawh uoy enam.
  17. This is what I use in normal situations. We fished the other day with 17mph winds, I was trying to use a 1/2jig and trailer and could not keep it on the bottom and feel it. Had to go to 3/4.
  18. There is a very good video with Ned Kehde, check it out, it will answer a lot of question about the Ned Rig. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/147809-ned-rig/ I use two different setups based on the weight I want to throw. St.Croix Rage 6'10"ML/XF 20lb PP slick 8, 6lb FC leader. St. Croix LTB 6'10"M/XF 20lb PP Slick 8 6lb FC leader. I usually throw either a 3/32 or 1/8 oz head with a ZMAN TRD or Zinkerz cut in half. Have also used the Hula Stikz and Hag's Tornado with good success.
  19. Not that I necessarily disagree with you, but I find it funny you say stay away from the Pro Qualifier. A few years back this conversation would have been dominated with recommendations for either the Pro Qualifier of the Shimano Citica E.
  20. My personal opinion when comparing reels based on engineering the Japanese reels trump the Korean and Chinese based reels a good majority of the time. The Korean reels often rely on bells and whistles to earn your purchase. With this said I fish primarily Korean based reels, so my opinion in not one that is fan based. When you get past the knobs and clicks and carbon fiber the Japanese reels are a better engineered product in my opinion.
  21. IMO, there is not one single best baitcaster under 100 dollars. This question gets asked about a dozen times a year and the responses and generally the same with quality reels from many different companies. Give the guys here some more information, like where you plan to use it, what you plan to use it for and they will get you dialed in. Best is a subjective term.
  22. I like the bluegill bait, if I were to add anything, it would be a tiny amount on chartreuse color to it somewhere.
  23. If I could only recommend 1 crankbait that I think everyone should at least try it would be the LC RC 1.5. They just catch fish.
  24. I don't think any one company is going to take the crown for most durable. Most if not all of the major reel companies have produced reels that have proved themselves to stand the test of time and use. You have already had suggestions for many reels that are very good. Pick the one that has the set of features you are interested in and best meets the needs of your fishing and you will have your winner.
