  1. I missed that, thanks.
  2. This thread is so full of great information, I continually come back and read it over and over again, picking up little pieces of information I missed the first or fourth time. Someone should make this a sticky, similar to the Senko thread. It should be required reading for anyone asking questions on jerkbaits.
  3. I have had a Premier spinning reel since they were released a few years back, it has never been serviced other than to clean and oil the line roller bearing, and put a drop of oil here or there. It remains very smooth, and I have not had a minutes problem with it.
  4. Cool, take a picture or two if you think about it, I would like to see what it looks like inside.
  5. So what do you think of the Zillion? Maybe just a quick out of box kind of thing.
  6. Nah, not paying retail, I can get a much better deal. I was just using the retail price for sake of conversation.
  7. Pflueger uses the same double bearing holding system, as do most of the ABU spinning reels.
  8. Seems like a good/fair price for an upper end reel, would you consider buying one at retail now that you have had the advantage of using them?
  9. I'm interested enough that I would be a player at 300, my concern about buying new would be that if you are buying NIB reels for 300, how well do they hold their value?
  10. I ain't payin 800 for one of them either. LOL
  11. I am all about high end gear. I understand the benefits and lore of owning a nice piece of fishing equipment. For some reason I just can't come to terms with 800 dollar spinning reels like the Steeze and the Stella. The Certate at 500 is also above my comprehension and appreciation. Someone tell me why these reels command this kind of price.
  12. I suppose the thought would be that with the larger diameter spool, your bait would pull off a greater amount of line while its energy is the highest. Like you I find myself working my baits more with the rod than the reel as it applies to the techniques I use a spinning reel for. Most spinning reels have a high IPT compared to LP reels already, so the larger spool increasing IPT would be a secondary thought in my use.
  13. While I have not used either of these rods I do own a few Dobyn's. With their reputation for a very balanced rod, I would go with the 742, should help you get better distance with lighter baits, and it will not come at the expense of being tip heavy.
  14. March Madness Baabyy. I know a lot of people did not care for Dick Vitale, but I for one love his knowledge of the game and how well he interacts with the kids on the teams. Here's to you, Dickie V.
  15. I have never had to use their customer service. I hope and bet that they will handle it well. Let us know how it goes.
  16. Most spinning reels have a pretty high IPT already, but a larger spool will definitely increase it. Seems much easier to tolerate a little extra weight on a spinning reel to me, must be the difference in the way they sit on the rod.
  17. Hackney is a nut, as soon as I see his face on TV I start laughing because I know he is going to say something crazy. Seems much easier to tolerate a little heavier spinning reel that it does a LP.
  18. I can see that, probably not much difference in weight either.
  19. Why do you prefer the bigger spool? Casting distance, or?
  20. I agree, but on some rods the 20 just does not balance things out quite as well as I would like. That and the smallest size the Patriarch comes in is a 30.
  21. Or, Detroit failed to get it done in the 2nd half. Just sayin....
  22. I use a mix of 20 and 30 sized Pflueger reels, just depends on the rod that the reel is going on.
  23. I think Dallas will perform well against GB. They have all the tools they need to be successful. They have a QB that is playing well, a running back that had an 1800+ yard regular season, a future HOF Tight end, and a couple of great receivers in Bryant and Williams. They also have some lesser known players like Beasley that are contributing. If the offensive lineman can play a little better than they did tonight, it should make for a very good game.
  24. I have purchased several new and used reels from eBay, just make sure to never send money as a gift, ask for tracking numbers, and check seller feedback. If you do your homework it is a good place to do safe business.
  25. I primarily use Pflueger for my spinning reel needs, of the many I own, I enjoy the Supreme, it IMO offers a very good value for your money.
