  1. Where you from, Sumpter?
  2. Keep catching bass like the one in your avatar and you can believe what ever you want.
  3. ma ma mama sez Bass is the devil.
  4. I think that is correct, but they do have a highly developed lateral line, or is that a sub-cranial ridge, I always get those two mixed up.
  5. If you can make the comparison, how do you think the 701 compares to a 1 power g loomis.
  6. Now there is some realism for you, put that in your pipe and smoke it!!
  7. I can see where it would be a problem trying to make adjustment to the braking in a small boat. I guess I am fortunate enough to have enough combos that I don't fish the lightest of baits and heaviest of baits on the same setup, so it eliminates the need to change the brakes much. What do mean ONLY hold 150 yards of 12lb line? That is a bunch of line for bass fishing.
  8. I say fish can see color all the way from the infrared spectrum to the ultraviolet spectrum. Prove me wrong.
  9. Sounds like your happy with the equipment you have, why change anything if your happy?
  10. The smaller 4.5 curly tails are excellent on a split shot rig.
  11. I think Pinnacle dug a deep hole years back that is going to take a lot of doing to get out of.
  12. Do you find yourself changing the centrifugal brakes often? I set mine when I took the reel out of the box, I turned a couple of the tabs on and have never messed with it since. Heck, I better check they may not even still be there.
  13. I'm with you, I don't think fish squint there eyes in dust storms either......
  14. another one assimilated
  15. Lucky Craft, they hit the sweet spot for price and performance IMO.
  16. I really like the Pflueger Supreme in that price range, might want to check one out.
  17. What's your price range?
  18. Fishing and filming MLF
  19. Zoom, Keitech, PTL, Rage, Minda, Roboworm, GYCB, Gene Larew, Jackal, RI, ZMan, Berkley, SK, LFT, too many good plastic baits out there to choose just one.
  20. Morning Dawn, MMIII, Aaron's Magic. I don't think they make many bad colors.
  21. So here's the thing, to get the low gear ratio 5.4:1 you will have to use the gears out of the Winch. Problem is the Gen3 Revo Winch uses a sigle piece spool and the longer pinion gear. The Gen3 SX uses a free floating spool and the shorter pinion. You need both gears to get the gear ratio you are wanting, and the longer pinion from the Winch is not going to work in your SX. The only other Revo model that I am familiar with using the single piece spool was the Gen1 SX.
  22. Do you know which generation Revo it is? The early version used a standard 1 piece spool and the newer versions used the free floating spool. The difference in spool types makes a difference in the gears that were used, in particular the pinion on the older versions was longer because it had to reach just a little further to engage the pin on the spool.
  23. I don't want to get off topic too much, but the short answer to your question is that when you do a deep clean and re-lubricate a reel, a combination of oil and grease are used. Each performs better for the protection and proper operation of certain parts of the reel. Climate and frequency of use, may dictate things like the type of corrosion preventatives used and the viscosity of the oils used.
  24. There are many really good oils and grease on the market, a lot of what is best depends on the environment you fish in and how often. You might provide a little more information and get some good responses.
  25. Need more information to be able to help, need to know the make and model of the reel that you want to change, and what you want to change it to. Sometimes it involves more than a simple gear change.
