  1. Nope. Not on the Ned... Spinnerbait. My avatar is a 4.5 caught on the Ned
  2. My biggest smallmouth is 4.98 lbs... should have left the lure in its mouth haha. Still not 5 though
  3. Conor and I hit up Wolf Creek on Saturday to see if we could follow in Clayton's footsteps. We came across some fish. Actually had to anchor because I couldn't hold the boat very well. Below are a few of he pictures. And then there was this guy who decided a belly full of food and an 8" white bass wasn't enough. It had to try to eat Conor's 4" swimbait as well
  4. If that falls through, let me know Blue
  5. I agree. Despite food poisoning Saturday I still had a great time. Would have been nice to catch some of the bigger fish that I know both of those lakes have, but it wasn't the case. I'm going to start lobbying this early... Tuesday and Fridays are the only days I can fish in the evening. If it works for everyone, we should make it Tuesdays instead of Thursdays next year.
  6. Hey, it's not the first time we've seen you in drag
  7. Bonus points?? Shame on you for thinking there is such a thing. What you did to accumulate these so-called "bonus points" is expected of you. On the plus side, since you are out of bonus points, don't bother trying to get anymore haha
  8. First off, what color is it? Here's my suggestion, bud. If she is financially conscious, tell her its this color or another 5-7k. If that doesn't matter... good luck haha
  9. This is a little late but my wife and I were out at Melvern Sunday as well as Brian. We met up with he, DJ and the guys from Joplin when we were all pulling out. It was definitely a less active day but on the bright side, I am pretty sure I found where they release the largemouth in the lake. Between the two of us, in about 2 hours we caught 57 largemouth all in the 6-14" range all on the Ned and all in the same stretch of bank. My wife did lose a largemouth that would have been around 3lbs when it jumped and threw the Ned. I will be back out there this weekend. Hopefully trying to get one worth taking a picture of.
  10. I won't be there unfortunately. So don't be texting me those d**n pictures! Actually, text them to me so I have a reason to go next weeknd
  11. Just tell her that its for her... my dad tried that once for an birthday present that he forgot to get her when he had a fishing trip planned... Might work out better for you haha
  12. Agreed. With the exception of the day we threw spoons for them in December, all my bigger fish have come shallow. My largest, just under 5lbs, was in about 2' on a spinnerbait. A year ago my father and I got 2nd in our get together (granted it was spring) but we caught over 16lbs on 5 fish on the Ned in about 2-3 feet of water. Or... buy a cheap one on ebay and let me paint it for you
  13. My arms still ache from ripping that spoon back!
  14. Right there with you buddy. One of these days. Hopefully sooner rather than later but it is hard to convince myself to explore a new lake when Melvern is so hot!
  15. Don't forget the odd chance that a picture of a fish is sent!
  16. You guys are killing me posting pics of those smallmouth at Melvern! I haven't been able to get there yet. And on topwater and cranks! Two things that I have been painting and not able to use yet! C'mon!
  17. I thought there was a moderator on this site!
  18. If you can sift through the nonsense and BS! Welcome, however
  19. *cough cough* Micah *cough cough*
  20. Also, won't be able to drive more than idle to your spots. Hopefully all your fishing spots are in one cove!
  21. First time I went to Gardner a few years ago small bass were blowing up the surface at that area. We caught a bunch but they were all 10" or so. Didn't know there was a rock pile there but they were definitely packed in that area.
  22. I too have used them and have had great results. They definitely will call before they do anything especially if they come across something that was unexpected.
  23. Welcome buddy. A great group of guys here with a wealth of knowledge.
  24. Welcome Hambone! Good luck Scrogg... Hope all ends well for you!
