  1. My wife and I went camping/fishing at Wabaunsee Saturday and Sunday. It was a strange couple of days at that lake. I don't ever remember catching so many small bass. Typically, for me, I never really caught a ton but they were nicer quality when I would go there. The last two days, it was a bunch of dinks with a 3lber mixed in occasionally. Here are a couple of the bigger ones.
  2. It will catch its fair share of dinks but it also catches some bigger bass. Both were caught this year at Melvern. My father and I got 2nd place in the Melvern get together a month ago with 5 best smallmouth going 16lbs+ All caught on the Ned rig.
  3. The great thing about them is you can catch 20+ fish on half of a zinker.
  4. Our best luck was just west of the peninsula that sticks out. The algae was annoying but we just swam the Neds pretty quickly over the tops of it
  5. You can google it for pictures but basically it's a 3/32 oz mushroom head with a zman zinker cut in half and glued to the head.
  6. I don't know the water temp. My cranking battery was low on charge and I never turned the sonar on since I needed the battery for the outboard. Everything we caught was on the ned though.
  7. Went to Melvern Saturday and had some issues with the outboard. Launched from arrow rock ramp and fished that cove for a while. My wife and I quit after about 3 hours and ended with 23 fish. Biggest was 2.51 lb smallmouth. Whites were very active on the plus side. My wife and I took our dog rollerblading this morning and we past regency lake park and she told me she wanted to go fishing there in the afternoon. We came back and just started catching largemouth left and right on the Ned rig. Ended with 27 fish. Turned out to be a pretty fun afternoon
  8. Be sure to let me know how you do. I'm really interested in how it is. Last year I did really well with a frog but I'm thinking its a bit too cold for that yet.
  9. Speaking of Miami, has anyone fished it lately?
  10. Count me out for this one
  11. Pm sent. Also, if any of you have questions about chiropractic, please feel free to pm me!
  12. Well guys, it's official. I'm done with chiropractic school and have started in a practice in Overland Park. So if any of you are in need...
  13. Took my father back to Melvern today and we found water temps from 53 when we got there to 64 in the back of a cove. We ended with 25 total fish but the quality wasn't the same as it was for us Saturday. Right before we left I lost a monster smallmouth at the point by the ramp. Easily over 4lbs that just spit the hook right by the boat. About 10 minutes later and closer to the ramp I hooked into another big one. She ended up 19.5" and 4.25 lbs
  14. Not sure where you guys were fishing but on the south side of the lake Saturday the temps for me ranges from 50-52
  15. It was a lot of fun today despite the hurricane we decided to fish in. Oddly enough, all our fish came on the Ned rig. We only had one bite on a jerkbait. Even the whites didn't want it from us. Going into the last hour, we only had 4 bass over 12" then we found some on a windy bank just killing the Ned rig. Here is a list of our 5 biggest weights and pictures of the two biggest. 3.81 lbs, 3.** lbs, 3.21 lbs, 3.04 lbs, and 2.57 lbs
  16. So is it official then, 6:30 start time?
  17. I'm fishing with my father
  18. By the way, congrats super fluke! Congrats blue on having mondo sell your chatterbaits. I see that you changed head types. Are you noticing any change in the action?
  19. I plan on taking the boat out of hibernation Friday. Anyone been out this week for trout? Other than blue at kill creek.
  20. Sorry for the late report but I convinced my wife to go fishing at Coffey with me last Monday (MLK Day). We ended up fishing for about 4 hours before the wind picked up and we decided to leave. Between the two of us, we caught 13 fish. Combination of smallmouth, largemouth, and wipers. Biggest fish was a 18.5" 3.70 lbs on a Ned rig on my second cast.
  21. I vote for Melvern and as for the 2-day, I really can't say. Never fished any of the lakes other than Melvern and Milford.
