  1. I know a few people that have done well with square billed baits and cranks such as wiggle warts. Also i've heard jigs have produced as well during the winter. Haven't heard anything lately however.
  2. Got an older fiberglass 2 man bass boat that has its share of stress cracks. I am looking for a product that I could either fill the inside with to seal it up or cover the outside to protect it from water leaking into it. Curious if anyone has had any luck trying to repair one I won't mind putting some money into it since it has lasted me some years, and a new one may have to wait till I have the cash. For products I was wondering ? How bout a truck bed coating ? or is there some roof sealant dunno how well it would attach just some ideas. Thanks
  3. Watch out when launching we had a tournament there awhile back and the water was down 5-6 feet if I remember right. Both points right outside PB2 should produce fish with either a jerkbait or wiggle wart (darker crawdad colors).
  4. Here are some tourneys that I know off i'm sure others can mention others. There was the K-state Ahearn tourney just last saturday There is the KBCF (Kansas Bass Chapter Federation) state qualifier that is going to be happening at Grand Lake this week May 8,9,10 a 3-day tourney. There are 3 ABA (American Bass Anglers) districts in Kansas one down on El dorado, Bone Creek, and Big Hill ? I belive. Fishers of Men has an organization in Kansas There are Kansas Bass Weekend Jackpot Tourneys most are out of state. Here are a few links for more info. http://www.kbcf.com/ http://www.fomntt.com/division.php?id=67 http://www.centralmidwestbass.com/
  5. Just plain luck the wires from the power station to my house never snapped and there weren't any tree limbs that fell on em. Yes very much so a pain means I work from sun-up to sundown. When the sun comes out though it is just amazing and very BRIGHT SUNGLASSAS are a must. Kinda like when your on the lake and the suns reflecting off the waves and it's so bright it hurts.
  6. Hey guys we had one heck of an ICE STORM coming through a few days ago and now there predicting snow for this weekend. Many branches came down with lots of people without power (luckily a few have had power including me). Hopefully all my fellow Kansas anglers are doing well. Being an electrician I have been busy rebuilding services on the sides of houses and installing whips on furnces ( wire with with plugs on the end) so that homeowners can heat up their house by generators. I added a few pictures but do not show justice to all the damage done.
  7. I will be there as well as a non-boater though. Shouldn't be hard to miss 6'4 and d**n good looking. ;D Just not to excited bout the drive from Kansas also ray777 is heading out as well.
  8. I found it on a webstie for the local manhattan area where I live. I was thinking scam which it turned out to be but ya never know some widow could be selling her husbands boat and not know the value and just wants it gone. ;D
  9. Found this ad and i'm thinking it's a hoax it just dosen't seem realistic. Here are the details. You are viewing a 2005 Ranger Z20 . It has 2005 Evinrude 225 E Tec HO with warranty. The boat includes: 1Lowrance X135 1Lowrance 330 C 10" Hydr/Jackplate Minnkota Maxxum Trolling Motor 101 Recessed foot control Fold Down and Bike Seat with Power Pedestals Chrome Z Elite Gauges Many More! 11. I've caught cats on crankbaits, c-rigs, t-rigs, jigs. I'm suprised us bass fisherman don't catch more cats flipping through weeds and around logs and brush.
  12. Recieved mine in the mail today they look great ;Dthanks zel and muddy. I will hopefully post some pictures from this weekend hopefully the camera will survive and hopefully I will catch some fish, that's if the shirts lost their curse. ;D
  13. I keep checking the mail..........i'm kinda worried though I got a 2 day tourney this weeknd and i'd hate to ruin my streak by wearing the mook shirt. ;D Just kidding I am going to wear it with pride and prove I am worthy of the Mook Fishing Team ;D
  14. Nice boat if possible get a compression check and take it out for a test drive. I had a freind recently took out his boat a charger with a 90 horse mercury i believe said he heard a knocking sound didn't think anythin of it. They took the boat out and came back without a cover for the motor they BLEW it off, said they heard a loud bang from the engine and it was gone. Glad I wasn't along.
  15. Same goes for me
  16. We returned the fish back into the water if it had been 10-15 lbs then it would have been in the pan. A fish that big i'm guessing would be 15-20 years old i'm just pleased to have caught and released him. ;D
  17. Guess Again I had Berkley Trilene 17 pound test the reel was a Quantum Accurist AC500CX.
  18. I hooked the cat around noon and the tournament lasted till 2, the fishing was tough I got 2nd with 2 fish :-/ I was near a boat launching area fishing flooded rock piles and you should have seen the bikinis on the dock cheering me on ;D I am 6'5" 190 pounds me and my observer were guessing 45-50 pounds.
  19. ;D"NEVER SAID IT WAS A BASS" ;D Here in KS we have a Mr.Bass tourney where the top fellow from each club across the state gets to fish for a spot on the state team and braggin rights. We had ours at El Dorado July 22nd weather was hot and the lake was up 10 feet. It was tough fishing i ended up 2nd with 2 bass. Also I hooked up with this BIG BAD KITTY caught him on a crainkbait took about 20 minutes to get in.
  20. There is nothing wrong with PSE I own a PSE NOVA ;D. I have used both fixed and mechanical broadheads. I have shot 2 deer with mechanical broadheads and they went down within eyesite, and the insides are just a big mess. Both are good choices it's just what one guys preference is. The thing i don't like about mechanical is the little rubber bands, and fixed well i've cut my fingers with those razor sharp blades. :'(
  21. I was looking at some previous posts for a specific one and found posts by edbassmaster that said (ex-member) ??
  22. I'm not sure Avid is med. school material wasn't he the one to get frostbite in Florida ? ;D
  23. I don't have one but i do got the E-Tec dvd about the engine i have watched it a few times if you'd like i will ship it to you. Just send me your address.
  24. Did some boat cleaning all the compartments, carpet and seats. Looks like a new boat ! Anyhow I have a removeable compartment under my seats and found this Daiwa Mini Cast system the reel is in good condition, the only problem is i'm missing one rod sections :-/ probably just gotta look a little harder. If anyone has any information about these i'd be interested in hearing about it.
