hey everyone, so i live about an hour away from chicago and in my neighborhood there is a pretty decent sized pond. I am 22 now, but when i was growing up in my younger years, (young for me atleast) my dad, neighbors, and myself always used to fish the pond, this is all fishing off the shore. Even 8 years ago when the last time i fished it we were pulling out really big size bass for the ponds size anywhere between 1-6 lbs largemouth. From what i remember our go to lure was just a simple 5-7" plastic worm (purple in color) with a texas rig and you could litterally fish the pond for hours having a blast. Ive used all sorts of different lures anywhere from top water to using baby bluegill with a bobber and even frogs (and catching monsters). I stopped for god knows what reason, sports? school? girls? what have you but a recent fishing tripped sparked my fishing fire and im back and ready for action. Im kinda getting a late start on the year obviously i really cant wait to see how big the bass are after over probably 8 years of not casting a single thing in the pond. Just wondering if you have any tips for me starting out this late in the season with the weather a bit chilly lately today is suppose to only get up to high 60's and 40 at night with some 70 deggree weather approaching. Me and my buddy plan to strike at 7am in the morning on saturday so any help i can get before that is much appreciated. I just bought some plastic worms and a couple of the bronzeeye frog lures which i thought might be a good start. Im from St. Charles, IL if you wanna look up the weather to get a better perspective.
THANKS FOR READING!!! and for any help provided it is much appreciated.
