  1. At Grove??? Been pretty slow there lately. Way to go, Kent!
  2. Thanks, y"all. I appreciate the kind words.
  3. Thanks, she's still in there, alive and kicking!
  4. Went out to the Halle Pond in Collierville this afternoon, For the most part didn't catch much, a few between 1 to 2 pounds. THEN... Was fishing a small Square-bill Crank just above the "snot grass", felt a little tick, and killed the lure, then twitching it, thinking I had yet another small male interested in my bait. Next thing I know the rod is doubled over and I'm in for the fight of my life! I'll let the picture do the talking; 12 pounds 3 ounces!!! Why did I spend all that money on a Bass Boat when the best fishing I'll probably ever do is 15 minutes from my house?
  5. Went out to Neshoba today, nothing, not one hit. Have caught a few there lately on a jerkbait. Went to Halle in Collierville the day before, caught several small one and one 6 lb. 12 oz. female. That one fish made it all worth while! Will probably try Grove tomorrow, but lately it's been slow going.
  6. Hello, and welcome to the site! Quite a few of us around here that fish in Germantown and Collierville. This post makes mention of nearly all the public ponds in the area: Neshoba Park in Germantown is off Wolf River Blvd, close to Germantown Road, years ago there was a WalMart near there, most locals refer to it as the "WalMart" pond for that reason. Grove Park is near Houston Middle school, back in a neighborhood, but easily visible on Google Maps. The Collierville City Hall is right next to Halle park which also has a nice pond there. The fish in my avatar picture was caught at Grove Park, just to give you an idea of the fish there. Look up the member Road Warrior, he's the master of this area!
  7. Caught 8 this morning at the Grove. Biggest was 6 Lbs 4 Oz. Two 3 pounders, others averaged about a pound. Lost a big one on Sunday right at the shoreline. Got to meet the famous RW there as well. Texas rigged Green Pumpkin Senkos and SK Rage Monkeys. Fish 'em slow. Caught a few at Pickwick last week, going to try Enid Friday.
  8. Man, 2 more years and I'm out too, can't come soon enough Tight lines.
  9. I just leave the house at 3:30 am, on the water at 5 and off by 10:30-11. Fishing the ledges at Pickwick like it's winter,i.e. slow, slow, slow! Also trying out some fluttering spoons as well. Be careful out there!
  10. Grove Park is near Houston Middle School. You can find it on Google Maps.
