  1. Nice night time pig on a Hula Popper!!!
  2. I guess I'm the only one. I hate catching them stupid things but they do strike hard . Not only do they destroy spinnerbaits, lures etc., their ugly and breath air! :dazed-7: I consider them a by-catch more then a trash fish. Bowfin hunting is popular in central Fl. They are native species and have a place in the ecosystem. Weird how the do a "death" roll just like a alligator does as a defense mechanism.
  3. 08 Tracker pt 190tx w/90hp, it will be up for sale at the end of the year (hint hint) . Upgrading to something geared more to pro/am style tourneys and does 70+mph
  4. Ya I have a boat, although I haven't fished in a while . I fish the glades but i don't usually use Holidays' boat ramps (during the week maybe or K.O.G tourneys). I try to avoid the crowded ramps on weekends. I either hit up tamiami, the alley or the ramps north of 75 on u.s 27.
  5. I will have to look up that bait, haven't heard of them. I was thinking live bait or flipping. Unlce joes cut is a awesome spot to. I brought my pops fishing one day and he caught his PB in that same spot but his was only 5-6 lbs. I'm in the FTL area. Nah no clubs for me, although there are some good ones in our area.
  6. Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of people from the S. Fl. region on here..I see it says your PB was between 12-13 lbs, thats a hawg for sure!! What did ya catch that on?
  7. And that's what all the rage is about!!! Nice putting clients on fish!!!
  8. check out Lake Osborne, it's connected to the same water system as Ida but a bit north. Look on google map, there are also plenty of other spots within that system you can fish.
  9. Check N.A.D.A for a general value.
  10. Nice pics! The temp's has been brutal lately, glad it was tolarable!
  11. Good question..For me, it's pitching jigs far back under low lying docks.
  12. The first time you have to jump off to clean the impeller of grass/weeds you're gonna wish ya had a boat instead of a ski..
  13. Nice Fish!! What lake, Jordan??
  14. I would look on google earth for some public parks that are on a lake or look for public boat ramps. I can't see it being to hard to find friendly waters to fish.
  15. FLW made a comment on youtube saying "Ensuring factual accuracy in every episode of Circuit Breaker is of highest importance. This updated version of the episode contains a correction. Lewis Smith spotted bass were used to stock California lakes. The original cut mistakenly stated the opposite.". I watched it for the first time yesterday, after clicking on this thread. Wow, circuit breaker is really cool. I'm definitely going to watch the others for sure!! Now that's REALITY TV, nothing fake or made up scenerios about it.
  16. The canal you are referring to is saltwater. There are no spots within walking distance from that area, that holds Peacocks. Having the wife drop you off will be your best bet. Look on google map around the I-75 (highway) area in the cities of Sunrise, Davie,Weston, Pemproke Pines and Miramar. It's pretty simple to get out there from by the beach, all highway driving. 595 west to I-75, north or south depending what city you decide. The Pembroke Pines and Sawgrassmills mall are within close proximity to the fishing grounds to.
  17. Mullet head, if your looking to catch the biggest snook. If your looking for smaller inshore snook, D.O.A or Gulp shrimp or live shrimp. Also, you don't have to actually fish on Sanibel island to catch snook. There literally everywhere over there. Tarpon, grouper, barracuda, snapper, sharks etc etc are very abundant...Check craigslist for guides. Hope this helps
  18. It's hard not to agree his overall performance has declined imho. He missed the classic last year for the first time in a while. As far as world rankings, he has declined drastically after being # 1. It's also hard not to agree he is not fishing for a check like a lot of the elite guys either. I think mentally he might not prepare himself like he use to because of that, again imho.. All elite events have a off limits period. Unless he gets to a lake prior to the off limits time, he spends just as much time as the next elite on the water. Also, there only allowed Mon- Wednesday (Wed is at most a half day) to figure out a lake for a Thurs- Sunday Tournament. I think missing the classic might of embarrassed his ego just bit. After all, some of his competitors in the elites dreamed growing up to be the next KVD!! Some of them young guns are fierce!!
  19. Nice pics, thanks for sharing..
  20. Nice, take a pic of them in action next time your at the ramp.. Are they LED's? I've been thinking about adding some lights under the rear bumper of my truck.
  21. x2
  22. If there at the bottom of 35ft, try a drop shot, texas/carolina rig or a jig (if you can keep it clean of snot). Your drop shot rig can be on a 7ft mh spinning with 10-12 lb test. If there suspending within that water column, depending at what depth, you can use swimbaits, deep diving cranks, jerkbaits (I prefer suspending or sinking), possibly topwater spooks, prob baits etc. You can also try the technique called strolling in an area like that. I haven't fished up there in a while but if I do and have an open seat, I will hit ya up!
