  2. So, how did things go? Where did you launch from?
  3. Nice upgrade for the price. I might just have to look into a pair..
  4. I haven't posted a report in a while. Went fishing Sunday 1/15 from 1pm til sunset. East side of US 27, north of everglades park. Mostly cloudy skies, I think like hi of 77. l started close to the ramp and headed south. It was really windy but since it was coming out the east, the trees/ bushes blocked it good. There was a giant patch of eel grass on the corner by the ramp. Threw a horny toad and had a hit but didn't connect.. Flipped it a few times but no takers with a gambler crawdaddy. As I headed south the wasn't many patches of eel grass but I targeted the ones I saw. Same with lily pads. I did manage to catch 2 bucks on a zara spook and another on a rattle trap. I threw a flippin/swimmin jig, swim bait, senkos etc. blk/blue or watermelon. I tried to fish real slow since the wind wasn't a factor. Couldn't get a bite on soft plastics, oh well. Didn't see any spawning beds either..Didn't seem to be much life in the water also. pretty quit... When I showed up there was a few trailers in the parking lot but I didn't see another boat while fishing. Everyone must of headed north.. Going to check out Lake O soon. Hopefully there is a mega wave of spawners moving in..
  5. Ya, I wouldn't be venturing into the flats with a single 12 volt battery either.
  6. Majority of the bigger boats don't slow down out there when passing other boats. Especially during tournaments. Personally, for the most part I only slow for Jon boats. I've heard rumors/stories of them being tipped over by the wake of another boat..
  7. Nice Catch! Shad raps rock. I've got small blk/white tied on a spinning rod year round too. I like the all white iridescent one also but those one are made of plastic not balsa. check um out.
  8. Nice! I haven't been out there in a while. Hopefully the big ones will be around after this full moon. Im dying for a good top water bite too. I managed to get out Saturday but late start. I fished the finger canals west of 27.. Couldn't get a bite in the canals but saw bass roaming,2 lbs max. They were scared of any bait i showed them. I was making long casts as well but no dice. Watermelon stick bait is all i caught bass on.
  9. Seriously, try to get in contact with Gerald Swindle. He lives in AL. Sponsored by Triton and a huge Auburn fan. Super nice guy to.
  10. Congrats!!!! Nice Boat!
  11. ya, check out google maps for sure. I've found dirt ramps doing the same thing. As a rule of thumb the further west, north/west you go the more desolate of the area an chances are you wont see another boat. Good luck
  12. Glad to see you made it out there and caught fish. Everything does always look fishy out there on the flats. As an angler we cant help but imagining huge top water strikes. Dropping a jig in a hole of the thick stuff and you line instantly going tight...lol Ive fished the south side of the alley by the toll plaza a couple times recently with some decent action. Still nothing over 1 1/2 lbs though.. All on soft plastics texas rigged..watermelon color..
  13. That's a SOLID rock fish right there! Is that your PB? How was the water level and current?
  14. That's normal. Say for example you had old grease in there. Pump new grease in and you will see the old grease seeping out the back. You will know you repacked it full with new grease, when you see no old grease and only new grease seeping out the back
  15. Nice boat! I wonder what top speed is.. Congrats!!!!
  16. Wow, two separate incidents recently about gators found eating a human body. Now a third incident in Orlando, were a gator snatched a 2 yo wading in the water with his family. I've heard incidents of them biting swimmers but these recent stories back to back are crazy.
  17. Fished with a friend of mine this a.m, we hit up the alley. Water level is still pretty high and lots of current. There was zero wind first thing in the morning and it was steamy hot.. Flipped and threw topwater mostly but only managed a few on a trick worm working the ledges.. left by noon as it was getting really hot and storms were encroaching ...
  18. Check craigslist or boat trader in your area..
  19. What a shame.. Where off Tamiami was this?
  20. blackk/blue jigs, Swim baits, Frogs, soft plastic and hollow body, texas rigged 10-12" black worms w/ black bullet weights.
  21. Ft. Myers area would the the closest. Check out google maps for water close by.
  22. WTG!! Keep it up, bro!
  23. Charlotte, NC rocks! Check out the Huntersville area. Lake Norman is right around the corner also.
