  1. Further west, past the toll plaza. The main boat ramp/rest stop has a turn around to head back east.
  2. Nice job in the tourney and good deal on letting other people in on the action!! To bad I have an electrical issue with my boat or else I would be hitting you up. Glad to hear about Palm beach counties Peacock population being strong like that..
  3. Ranger~ better quality and resale value.
  4. 20 fish, Nice! We need more details, . What were they biting, presentation, how deep, etc? That's a spotted bass, right?
  5. Hey Snazzy, the water system the goes under the 826 and around the Don Shula golf course definitely holds P's. Over by Frontage Rd (west of 826) are spots to slide a boat into the water. There are no ramps over there but I believe on the other end of the water system there is a dirt ramp in a park.
  6. Lake Norman is a really clear lake. Spotted bass are usually caught on the south end as LM are caught more up top on the north end. Shakey head or wacky style in something green pumpkin should get you some bites of spots. There are a ton of docks on that lake. If you fish them, drag your bait so it touches the pilings, that usually when you will get bit. Look for some rip rap along the shore lines, they hold spots to. Try cranking for some LM. Good Luck. Hope this helps.
  7. Caught my PB with that technique.
  8. Hey LMG, what lake did you go to up there? I was on lake Kissimmee this past weekend and the bite was pretty tough for me to. Only found dinks. Saw some beds in one spot but no one was home. The wind was out of control on Saturday .
  9. Basic, Black or White work for me.. Although, i'm not sure color matters to much with topwater reaction strikes, especially in low light conditions.
  10. Gambler products rock!!!!
  11. Yup, I use to do the same. SoFlo is a mecca for lil boats that don't need a boat ramp. Zach, the canal system that runs along the turnpike from Glades road north is really good, if can find a place to slide your boat in (no ramps). If you want to stick to boat ramps, I would hit up lake Osborne/lake Ida water system. There a plenty of ramps through out the whole system. It actually holds some decent size bass as well as different exotic fish. I've caught a 10 lb clown fish there one time (pretty cool looking). I believe Peacock bass as making a comeback to there. One more thing, If you haven't already I would recommend joining a fishing club in your area. That way you can gain some experience and become familiar with the area from people who already know the area well. Most have monthly tournaments to.
  12. Good the hear the population of peacocks are still that far north in palm beach. Boca use to hold some monster peacocks before the cold front wiped them out a few years ago.
  13. I wouldn't want to be dangling my feet in any water that holds aligators... or be in an inflatable.
  14. Nice Job fellas!! Looks like the pre-spawn is in full swing..
  15. IMO, Kissimee chain of lakes is like Lake O, every time you make a cast there is a chance to hook a 10lber (or close to it). I'm sure Disney ponds have big bass (less pressure) but but I believe there are far more 10lbers in the Kissimee chain of lakes then the lakes at Disney. Plus, I'm not sure how eager a Disney guides would be to help you find the giants as opposed to a guide on Kissimee. A guide at Disney is employed by them (I think) lol. A guide on TOHO is self-employed, he also has a lot to gain by putting you on fish. No better advertisement than word of mouth. On another note, spawning season is basically here for Florida bass. There's a full moon around mid-November to. I'm sure there will be some mommas on beds or at least adjacent to the flats in a lil deeper water. Throw a prop bait in the morning then switch to shiners if/when the bite slows down.. One last thing, when tournaments are held at the Toho marina, anglers usually have access to the whole chain of lakes (as per tourney rules). Well when they release to fish after weigh-in, usually they get put back into Lake Toho only. Since you have to go threw a lock to get out of Toho, most of those fish are there to stay.
  16. Unless you really want to fish Disney lakes, for the price I would suggest hiring a guide on TOHO, just like Gar-tracker said. You can be at the lake in under 20 minutes and your chances of catching a double digit is a lot better. Nov. 17th is a full moon to.They will be in pre-spawn/spawn stage at that time.
  17. Congrats on 2nd. Nice pics of the scenery! Thanks for sharing..
  18. Join B.A.S.S. Nation, they have a high school division also.
  19. Peacocks prefer smaller lures rather than the bigger size. All white or black and orange are my 2 favorite x rap colors down south. try a small buck tail jig, they'll hit that to.
  20. I believe it slides over the backside of one of the gauges. It's meant to keep the wiring/electronics protected from the elements. The two pieces of metal on the side should hold it in place so the gauge itself don't fall out the front. Or it's a flux capacitor!!
  21. Norman is definitely one to go fish.
