  1. I don't blame ya for moving, Lou..
  2. How ironic, I had a issue with a gator there to that day. I had them come from a far when throwing topwater or have one tail ya for a a while. This one came straight towards the front of the boat from a distance. Once it was about 10 ft away ( wasn't stopping) I had to smack the water with my flipping rig. That got him to stop but then he opens his mouth a few inches tail out of the water and just sits there. I was amazed as usually they want nothing to do with anglers/boat. I wonder if this one was fed by someone in the past. I do know there territorial especially during matting season but I never had one act like that..
  3. Nice job bro!!! How big were the shiners you were using?
  4. Yup, thats the area. I fished that dead end canal with that sign 1st but moved to the other canal since I wasn't getting any bites. I've never pasted that sign either. Don't want to get scalped..lol
  5. Nah, not the Miami river. I went west for a while before crossing over to the north side of the alley. The canal I fished ends at the pump station by that Miccosukee service plaza/gas station. It goes north/northwest from the alley, then goes due west all the way to the pump station.
  6. I was up there in Feb. last year. Its extremely deep and has ledges through out. A-rigs and suspending jerk baits worked real well. If you have good electronics look for schools and fish on those ledges and try throwing a drop shot if ya find them. A X-rap in hot pink was my color of choice believe or not. Extra long pauses around sloping banks was the way to go at that time. I remember being really far from the shore to. Those can be found in the coves that have homes in them. They would come up from like 20 ft and hit it on the pause. . The A-rig I had more success on was a curly tail style swimbait instead of paddle tail. I threw that really close to the banks in areas where there were no homes and more trees style shore line. Its a quit lake with some nice natural scenery and cool rock walls to.
  7. Thanks for the report!!!! Ya, the wind has been ridiculous lately. Definitely been hindering my fishing to. I was out on the alley to, last week. Not sure what mm it was but its the ramps that has the turn around/rest stops to. The one was short and really fat full with eggs. We headed along the alley then went north northwest towards the pump house. the water had some current so i decided to start there instead of going down to the pump house. Out of about 50 fish one was 2 3/4's my buddy caught. All the others were dinks. He's a newb but got the hang of it pretty quick dragging a worm real slow . Most were caught that way with 3/16 bullet weight in 8-10 ft of water. Although I did catch about half of mine punching a 1oz ugly otter. Although I didn't see any distinctive circle style beds but I did see sandy areas that were fanned out and now rocky. No females on them but the males were swimming around them. I hit up the finger canals west of 27 on saturday. Saw beds everywhere but only one had a female swimming around it. I had no luck in the canals so I hit up the alley. Caught a few on a 4 in. junebug stickworm (BP brand). Lost a few to in the pads as well. Tightlines...
  8. Welcome!!!! Nice introduction, those are some hawgs. WTG!!
  9. I haven't fished on foot in a while but Weston is definitely a hot spot for urban bass. i'm sure the bass are definitely in prespawn mode out there. I would be scouting shorelines like crazy. Like HookdUP mentioned, try throwing something texas rigged. no more than a quarter oz weight. A senko or a simple worm should get ya some bites. Throw right in the middle of some lilly pads or on the holes or edges or any weeds. A full moon is on the 3rd so that should help a wave of spawners come come up..
  10. Chatter baits are definitely part of my arsenal. One thing I prefer is to throw it on a smaller gear ratio instead of a high speed one.
  11. I would say NO for bass tournaments.. IMO, I don't think it is faster to stow away then a manual ones either.
  12. Nice reports everyone!!! I went out of Holiday Park the other day but had to cut the trip short due to trolling motor battery issues. Got some new ones this weekend so I'm back in action. The boat ramps on 27, north of 75 looked pretty busy yesterday (more than usual). Was headed up to Lake O.
  13. I've scouted a ton of beds on Lake O and in the glades but yet to see any mommas on them. A few had some aggressive bucks but I didn't set the hook.
  14. Nice report! What did your 2 big fish bite? I hit up lake O yesterday. there were a ton of beds. saw some bucks guarding but no mama's on any of them. Saturated the area hoping for a fatty but nothing over 2lbs all day. Stick worms got me the most bites.
  15. Welcome to the east coast lol! That area of NC is really nice. If you have a boat and don't mind driving a bit, there are a ton a lakes within an 1hr 1/2 drive. As for baitfish in Norman, definitely Black crappie, yellow perch, bluegill, shad/shiners and crawfish. Ya, I think I've seen gar in Norman to.. Try throwing a shakey head with a green pumpkin trick worm on 8lb test, under docks. That should get ya bites..
  16. The closest boat ramps to broward are south bay, clewiston and belleglade. Anywhere around torry island/ pelican bay are good or if you leave out of clewiston try around uncle joes cut area or the west wall. Good luck!
  17. Thanks for the report! They should be in pre-spawn/spawn mode. Hollow bodys rock!! Anytime I throw one, I have fun imitating a real frog, waiting for that explosion. Never gets old! Try throwing a prop bait along the pads next time, like a ole school devils horse. Their a blast to throw out there. Did you see any freshly made beds? Were there bucks on them? I'm gonna hit up the finger canals soon. Will report back..

  19. Gore-Tex Suit! Bib and Parker. My girl totally hooked me up. I'm psyched!
  20. IMO. Not for FL. Especially way south. Any cool down then warm up, around the full moon, will trigger a wave of fish to occupy the shallow.
  21. Ya, thats it. Quick, go to walmart and buy a combo with some 6-8 lb line and a rapala x-rap. Take some casts before you leave!!!
  22. Felix, that's Blue Lagoon, right? Love that fishery! Ground zero for peacock bass!!!
