  1. Good Job! The water is dropping fast out there.
  2. The Alley, headed west for a bit but fished mostly the north side. Didn't get out there til like 2pm but fished til sundown.
  3. Crazy how many blanked on day one and two. Over 15 blanked yesterday alone, wow!!!
  4. I fished yesterday afternoon and wore my wrist out. Was catching them on consecutive casts. Suspending jerkbait and topwater worked the best. I would reel one in and a school of them would swim with the one hooked, at times. Oddly enough I didn't get a single bite on any soft plastics I threw. The lunar chart had Thurs and Fri as the best days..
  5. Okeechobee is ever changing, between the winds and water level, sawgrass gets uprooted/floats, trails get clogged. Those fish move a lot or become inaccessible. Water clarity has been really bad in certain areas to. Depending on what the wind will be like when you go, will determine, how and were you fish. In general the south side of the lake around Clewiston has been good lately. The west wall is also another popular area. I was out there yesterday and fished from belle glade to the west side of Ritta island. Deep in the flats the water clarity is clear but the grass/weeds make it difficult to hook up. The wind was calm enough yesterday to fish the outside, closer to the main lake (which I did). the water clarity was dingy but I was getting bites. Caught one 5 lber and a few dinks. Oversized Stick worms and a topwater propbait was working for me. There was a FLW event out there recently, you can read about techniques used on there website. Funny you mention to look for different types of cover near each other because that was the scenario when I caught the big one of the day.
  6. Nice report Geo. I found one spawning area out there at the perfect time. It had fish locked on beds doing there thing, males/ females aggressive around the beds and some giants roaming. One was pushing 8lbs easily. Managed a few in the 3-5 lb range. I'm still catching them good flipping to. Last couple nice ones went 6.3 and 5.12. Stick baits have been working to for me but I can't put the flipping stick down for to long. Tightlines!
  7. Congrats on PB, WTG!!!
  8. Check out, Thadeus Regan with gladesbassin. He's a big stick out there and fishes all the major tournaments out there..
  9. Nice catch!
  10. Nice SLOB!!!!
  11. Nice urban bass!!!
  12. Peacocks rock!! I'm surprised they hit a worm style soft plastic too, as there not known to bite them, imo. Nice catch!
  13. There are plenty in the canals..
  14. Try spraying some attractant on it, to "grease" it. Might just be the plastic being to dry and catching.
  15. possibly, I would throw a small one under a 1/2 ounce in a sexy shad color.
  16. Shakey head, with a 4-6 in.watermelon worm
  17. peacocks are in boca, snakeheads as far as i know are not. you can catch Pea's in any water that connects to the water system around glades road and the turnpike. rapala x-raps or a tiny torpedo (topwater) should do the trick. Go to margate, tamarac or coral springs for snakeheads. Horny toad frogs or a spinner bait should work for them.
  18. Like others said no bass fishing down there. If only there was, then it would be like the ultimate fishing destination. I was down there in Islamorada this past weekend, The keys Rock!! Whats your game plan? flying or driving? What key do you plan on going to? As far as charters, inshore charters (snook/tarpon) are usually cheaper then offshore style charters. There are night time charters to which might fit your schedule better. You might want to look on craigslist in that area as guide advertise on there also.
  19. Sounds like good times.. WTG Lou!!!
  20. Nice, thanks for the report. Did you happen to see the enormous party/gathering in the parking lot of one of the boat ramps just north of 75? I drove by there sunday afternoon and couldn't believe what I seeing! There was literally a hundred vehicles and hundreds of people in the lot. I've never seen anything like it there before. The lot was full to the hilt. I usually use that particular lot/ boat ramp to. Not sure what I've would of done if I came back to the ramp to see that. .
  21. x2 for Glades rd and the turnpike. That is a good spot to catch peacock bass also. Try throwing a topwater torpedo or suspending jerk bait.
  22. Thanks for the report! I hit up the miami river on the north side the other day. The day it rained real bad and the front was rolling in. Only fished that afternoon. My plan was to fish the canals along the alley looking for mats but the wind was to bad. The miami river canal had less wind and was much more manageable. Started right at the beginning were it curves to the right. Flipped the whole time, same set-up as before. The bite was slow but the fish were a tad bit bigger then the other day, 1 1/2-2 lbs instead of under 1lb. Most looked to be prespawn females to, caught around ten. A lot of the bites occurred where the shore line breaks to allow the flow of water through. Real far in the reeds where there was floating mats got the most bites. Lost a few good bites in the thick stuff to, never saw them, so not sure if they were bass. Caught a few mudfish in the mix to.
