  1. So depressing. Season opens here May 10, I think the lakes will still be frozen.
  2. When I said new boat, I meant new to me, selling my boat would go towards getting the used boat I'm buying rigged up with trolling motor etc., so I can't really afford to give it away, but he is a good friend, who could really use a boat, so I will offer it to him at a below average price. Thanks for the input guys!
  3. So I'm getting a new boat within the next month or so, woohoo! One of my friends would like to buy my old jon boat, I'm wondering what you guys think would be a fair price. It is a 1980s? 10ft waco jon boat, has wheels on the back that can be flipped either way, would come with a 1999 2hp Johnson that runs beautifully, 2012 Minnkota Endura 35lbs, and clamp on swivel seat. What do you guys think?
  4. For me, it has gotta be eagle lake, Ontario. Huge musky, eagles everywhere, and the most perfect smallmouth structure I've ever seen. Which was home to my PB bass.
  5. I listen to the Eagles... not the band, but the birds.
  6. You guys are cruel, I've got a month and a half yet before I can even head out to try for them.
  7. Al Lindner and Shaw Grigsby
  8. My buddy insisted on bringing his sister's bf out fishing with us, which meant that my 10ft jon boat would be too small. So we borrowed a 16ft boat with 5hp that we were assured ran perfectly. Half an hour from home we realized we forgot the trolling motor, had to turn back to get it. Deer jumped out in front of the truck, slammed on the brakes, anchor slid and broke the prop on the trolling motor. Got on the lake, motor wouldn't start, boat leaked ALOT of water. Finally got the motor to start reached the opposite end of the lake, motor totally died. Only 2 paddles in boat, rubber full length, and one all of 2ft long. Start paddling, wind picks up, blowing us farther and farther away from the truck. Luckily another boater saw, and towed us to shore. Not a single fish was caught.
  9. Well we do have part of Lake of the Woods in Manitoba, so that would be the best, but one entirely contained within my province, probably Crowduck Lake.
  10. I am pretty new to bass fishing, so my first was June, 2011. I was in my work fishing tournament, on a lake along the Winnipeg River, throwing some no name shallow diving perch crankbait when I hooked this little fella. He jumped and fought so hard for his size, I've been addicted ever since.
  11. For me, I always reach for a 3-4" crayfish imitator like a chigger craw, or hair jig. But, last year I started favouring a shaky head with 5" worm, which is what fooled this beauty.
  12. Hey Thanks gric-az, all my family wanted to go to Lake Pleasant, so that where I mostly went fishing, was pretty much stuck to the south side of the lake, it sounds like the bass were mostly north side. I did catch a few fish though. I was really hoping to go to Alamo while I was down, I heard some real good reports from up there.
  13. Hey guys, I'm heading down to Arizona (Phoenix area) in a week for a bit of a vacation. After this brutally cold winter I can not wait to get on some open water again! My questions for ya'll is this, at this time of year are the bass there in pre-spawn, spawn, or post-spawn already? Any tips you guys got for Arizona bass would be great. I may have access to a kayak, but I could be shore-bound as well. Looks like I will be going to Alamo, or Bartlett Lake, maybe both.
  14. Well up here in Manitoba, fishing is prohibited between April 1 and May 10, so I won't be out until then. But when I do, I'll probably try some shakey head jigs, and xraps.
  15. For this year? We measure our fish by length rather than weight, but here goes. 20"+ smallmouth bass 18"+ largemouth bass (largies are rare up here) 24"+ walleye My first crappie and white bass. Hopefully I'll stay away from the northern pike!
  16. Way to be man, nice stripes on her.
  17. So jealous, we're nowhere near even ice out here.
  18. Man there are some beautiful smallies in here, I'm relatively new to bass fishing, with only 2 seasons under my belt, but here's a couple of mine. Nice colors on this one, not my biggest, but my favorite from 2012. Caught in Whiteshell Prov. Park Manitoba. My PB, caught in 2011, Eagle Lake, Ontario. Love the tiger stripes on it. Too bad I was by myself, so could only get this pic.
  19. The depths are in Meters
