  1. Well....got a call my boat was ready last night so I went to pick it up. The only problem was the welder only put a bead on one side of the keel. I saw it leaking from both sides when it was in my garage. I told the service manager that he only hit the keel on one side , the manager said he'll call the welder back but it will be another few days . Another weekend lost off the water.
  2. We can't help Take your dog to the vet and spend the $200 It sounds to me like you're pretty sure he did swallow it .
  3. LOL This thread reminds of threads posted on some long range rifle shooting forums. You have one person post about a brand new scope he just bought for $89 and then defends it by saying it will do the same thing as your high end optic you paid $2000.00 for.
  4. I can agree to a point on that but the easiest way too turn off a new angler who always casts a spinning reel. Is to have him buy a cheap junk bait cast reel. You don't have to spend 100's of dollars on one but there are good reels for $100.00 or so. When an angler uses a good quality baitcast reel the learning curve is so much easier when switching over from a spinning reel. I'm not saying that's what the reel is you bought because no one knows yet until it's tested over a few months.
  5. How does anyone snap 50 pound braid catching a large mouth ? I can't see it happening for any reason other than you had your line rub against rocks or gravel , then it really didn't snap it frayed to the point of breaking. I have surf fished for many, many years and 50 braid won't snap from the weight of a striper unless I had the fish take me to the rocks which it did happen on occasion. But there is a difference between line breaking and line breaking because of it frayed.
  6. I'm with you man , I have an assortment of all you mentioned ,I bought a rod and reel just for jig fishing but it's hard and frustrating to get good at it. I'm pretty much convinced that it's almost impossible to learn how to jig fish on your own. I had the pleasure of fishing a little while ago on someone else's boat and watched him work a jig almost exclusively the whole time . I knew after by watching him how little I knew about jig fishing,
  7. Night fishing my local lake pulled into a small cove where I can beach my boat just to stretch my legs and have a cig. Looked in my boat and a dag had jumped in .
  8. It was probably already cracked and you never noticed it. I had hairline cracks in a couple of rods before. happens,,,
  9. Ouch I'm sorry to hear this.. I went out and looked at mine again , I don't know if they will try to weld the keel from the outside to stop the leak or if they have to pop out all the rivets in the floor to weld it from the inside.
  10. I just got off the phone with a Tracker dealer that is local , 15 miles away . As I said in an earlier post I was trying to avoid the long drive to bass pro . The dealer said yes , we honor any type of warranty work and we have a welder on staff . They took my name and number and said they will call me to when he can take a look at the boat. I'll keep you updated how this goes. So far it seems pretty good.
  11. I'll call them tomorrow. Do you happen to know if any authorized Tracker dealer will do the work? There's one around 15 miles away but when I bought the boat they didn't have one in stock. It would be nice to be able to drive there instead of 2 1/2 hours away to basspro
  12. Not bad where I can't use it still. I was in the water today for 5 hours and I'm guessing it took in between 2 to 3 gallons of water.
  13. The boat is 3 years old so it's covered under warranty I hope. I noticed a lot of water in last week and just got back from fishing tonight. I parked it in the garage and came out and found a puddle under the keel where it's welded. I really don't feel like driving to basspro and dropping this off for warranty work. I'm thinking of just going to my local welding shop and asking them to run a bead across the back end of the keel where it's leaking. Would you go this route or would you go through the hassle and wait of brining it to tracker marine?
  14. Spent 9 months on a carrier for a med cruise , never once Saw and heard plenty of people that did during the cruise. Also spent plenty of time on small crafts and never got sick. When I did get sick a couple of times it wasn't from sea sickness when we were in a port, it was from drinking just a little too much .
