  1. Did great with a charlie slider worm and 1/8 jig head.
  2. I just got my order of Charlie Brewer Slider Worms and was amazed at the extra items they sent me. They sent me about 5 2 piece samples of some decent soft plastics for both bass and panfish. I will definately be using them again.
  3. roadwarrior good call on the 6# line. My partner just spoke with an area guide and he basically echo'd each persons statements here. He stressed very hard that we should go to using 6# test along with lures in the 2 1/2-4 inch range. Time to bust out the smaller spinning rods.
  4. what size/type hook?
  5. What are some good soft plastics that are low profile in the 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 size range. It seems that our fish don't really hit on much over 3 inches here in the smaller heavily pressured lakes. I have been looking and can't find much under 3". Our fish mainly caught stay in the .5 lb-1.25lb range with a few bigger ones thrown in. Any tips or info would be great.
  6. Anyone use these for punching and if what is your opinion. I was debating trying them out, but I would hate to have them come off the hook.
  7. I did have one, but I sold it to clear out some space. I am kinda kicking myself because I didn't think to try it as a frog rod.
  8. Today with the Booyah Pad Crasher(cricket frog) About 15 hits and I connected on 4 fish. One was a nice 3-4lber I caught in open water mid day. I personally just pop-pop-pause or pop-pop-pop-pause. I have more success fishing it super slow and changing up the rythm. Right now my rod set up isn't ideal for froggin' either so I feel your pain. I use a Abu Garcia Veritas 7' medium action with 12lb test spinning rod. I can definately see where having a heavy would help hook ups. There is a thread talking about how the berkley lightning heavy action is great for the money(around $30-$40 at walmart) so that might be something you could look into.
  9. I saw Walmart in Vestal,NY had a bunch on sale for like 29.99. Not sure what length or rod power though.
  10. and if you want to save a few bucks check out Outlet Bait and Tackle online. Sometimes they have amazing prices on stuff. 4' senko's for 3.99, granted they don't have every color, but still its a big savings. http://www.overstockbait.com/category_s/911.htm
  11. not sure if anyone mentioned this but get the o ring tool and put o rings on or lake fork makes a weight ring that looks reasonable.
  12. Black and Blue has been a killer this year in NEPA.
  13. Trigger x flutter worms and minnows are the worst for drying up. Berkley gulp is a close second and I got a bucket of 3' berkley hawgs and the things are a bit hard with crappy action.
  14. I had some issues hooking with a frog today so I am looking at the senko/toad and trying that for frogging
