  1. What we can go by (reasonably well) is that the distance btw eyes and nostrils is about half of the "depth" of the bucket. Couldn't find that stat for a John Deer H360... To wit, the number of inches from midpoint btw eyes to midpoint btw nostrils equals the number of feet in length of total gator. The kid and tractor are definitely "long arming" it, notice that photo is from an angle with gator closest to camera and kid is WELL behind gator reaching up as if touching it.... Could reach it if he were Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four....
  2. I like throwing things in a perch pattern at them, lipless crankbaits like this look a lot like the Mayan cichlids. Also had success with chartreuse (yellow to me) and black
  3. If'n it ain't got no fish in it then I ain't a goin'....
  4. I like to use it to get in real close to banks in canals here in south Florida.
  5. Nothing really new about it. Kind of like a rig that is used a lot for walleyes. I like to use it to get in real close to banks in canals here in south Florida.
  6. Keep safe..... the only ice fishing we get to do down here in Miami-Dade County is fishing through the ice in the cooler for a nice, cold beverage....
  7. No, they cost around $14.95 each if bought directly from the Bassmaster website.
  8. I got a free one over a year ago to give a review on it as a marketing test. I really didn't learn anything from it and I would NOT pay the asking price ($14.95) for them when I can learn much, much more from this website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Congratulations.
  10. My favorite one always begins when somebody asks me what I did to my Hula Popper for it to look like it does........ My answer begins with, "I didn't do anything to it but the 'gator sure did...."
  11. No issues whatsoever with mine.
  12. We have people down here who really put the "duh..." in "Flori-duh....."; insist on feeding the invasive ducks; Muscovy ducks to be exact.... The only good thing is that they feed them stale white bread so they end up dying of malnutrition with full bellies; the only thing that those ducks were ever any good for was being an easy meal for the alligator back when it was in danger of extinction....
  13. That's just Darwin's Law of Natural Selection thinning out the weak (minded) from the herd.....
  14. Welcome to the site! Lot's of good info here and helpful people who will respond to your questions in a respectful manner.
  15. I like non-commercial (ie not overproduced) back to the basics in my music that can be reproduced live by a band. Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, David Allan Coe, Skynyrd, José Alfredo Jimenez (wrote over 1,000 songs but couldn't read music), Sex Pistols, Stones, Neil Young, Springsteen......
  16. I absolutely love it when kids ask me questions while I am fishing. I always try to be polite and answer their questions with age appropriate answers. My grandson has outgrown his Shakespeare Spiderman rod and reel so I always take that with me when I go fishing. If the parents allow it I set it with an earthworm and let the kids try fishing. Luckily we have lots of small fish here who go right after a worm and the kids generally enjoy it.
  17. I agree on the combo but really like my 7.1:1; I can always reel slower if necessary.
  18. Sometimes they just aren't biting at all. Went yesterday afternoon / evening to my favorite spot 100 yards from my house. I could see 2 nice peacock bass (18" to 20") swimming around within 10' of the bank. 2 tilapias just holding about 4' off the bank. Could not get any bites. Went home and got out the Zebco 33, some meal worms and butter worms. Went right back. Dangled both meal and butter worms in the tilapias faces and NOTHING! I even ran a meal worm down the side of a tilapia rubbing it from tail to head and NOTHING! Didn't bite and didn't even move! Just held in the same position.

  20. I don't know about friends in Abu Dhabi but I wouldn't mind having a few friends in Abu Garcia who sent me stuff under the table..... LOL
  21. I set mine on 50% of line test strength on light lines (up to 14 lb test). I check that by pulling against my Rapala electronic scale; need someone to hold it and read it for me though. On heavier lines I put it at about 50% of what drag there is on the reel and adjust accordingly to the fight the fish puts up; on 65 lb braid I know I will run out of drag before I break the line.
  22. I would not dive for a lost lure down here because I share my fishing holes with some ornery folks..... That's about a 7' one in front of the weeds...
