  1. I don't see the difference between someone being rude on purpose, and being blissfully ignorant. The guy in the kayak is swamped either way. I'm impressed with your ability to offer forgiveness though...I sure wouldn't.
  2. I just recently picked up a ZOLO Deputy and I love the action. It throws light lures well, but handles a one ounce WP very well too, perfect taper for a versatile rod.
  3. I've never done well with them. FLW did a tournament on Cumberland earlier this year and I remember some pros making the comment that they were surprised they couldn't catch fish on a tube there.
  4. That's a shame. Finding the right used boat usually takes some time and research though. I searched for about 5 months before I got my Skeeter. Better luck on the next one! That Pantera sounds sweet by the way.
  5. Jeez, that guy's idea of "immaculate" is a little different than mine.
  6. First off, welcome to the forum! I don't think he's asking too much at all, in fact that's a good deal assuming all is well with that boat. It's hard to find an excellent condition older boat like that. Those are the ones to jump on, because they're usually well maintained and or low hours. That one won't last long, the zx225 is a desirable model.
  7. For the most part, I'd say sensitivity is overrated. Meanwhile... power, action/taper, and balance get little attention, but are often more important.
  8. Yes a boat will make you become better because it opens up so much more opportunity.
  9. Legend definitely built some great looking boats. They were rare around here too, I've only seen a couple of them out on the water. I always wanted one... I'm one of those guys who loves having something different than everyone else has.
  10. I hope the other independent brands out there survive. I shudder when I think about the possibility of a Morris monopoly on boats.
  11. I was never a fan of co-anglers...so I like the move.
  12. Trick worm Walking bait Buzzbait Jig Double fluke
  13. Buzzbaits for me too. Though when a bass misses a walking bait 3 or 4 times before he finally gets it...that's hard to beat.
  14. I can't play a lick. I've always had a lot of respect for those who could though. I have loved guitar music my whole life. I still think about trying to learn all the time...even at 30.
  15. You'll get that confidence once you've fished enough. Sounds like you're already getting a handle on things. Certain days and times of the year are just tricky no matter what your experience level.
  16. I like to rig-up the night before mostly because it's a time saver. And if I have to re-rig a couple rods before I start, no big deal anyway. Most of the time though I don't have to change much, once you figure out those seasonal patterns, you'll have a pretty good idea of what to throw and where to fish.
  17. 45 at night on a crowded lake with no life jacket? Your boater is an idiot, there's no way in hell I'd get in a boat with someone like that.
  18. Yep, I finally got to fish the legend. Did pretty well too, caught about 10 bass, and got the trifecta of species. They were mostly small ones, but I did get a couple good sized Spots, (maybe 2 lbs, good sized for around here anyway) got a nice 3 lbs Largemouth, and managed one good Smallmouth: Fun trip for sure. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but it was pretty classic post-spawn fishing. I caught every single fish shallow and on a Trick Worm.
  19. Mine gets wiped down every time I put it on the trailer after fishing to remove the scum line. I probably wash it 2-3 times a month. Keeping a good coat of wax on it helps me get away with just a wipe down, instead of that full wash job. I used to spray wax it after every trip, but have found that every other trip is enough. (I like Lucas Slick Mist) It's a 2004 Skeeter, and she still gets a lot of compliments.
  20. Those Chinese made Goodyear Marathons were lousy for sure. They were original equipment for Skeeter trailers recently (until they were discontinued), and the number of complaints from those things was just ridiculous. I've heard the Endurance tires are much better, but I think I'll still pass on anything Goodyear.
  21. If it's a War Eagle, it should be good.
  22. I'd agree. But I have known a few people who like this technique.
  23. Thumb your spool on the hookset...drag won't slip then.
  24. I was gonna say Falcon and Denali too. Doesn't seem like you hear much about ALX rods either.
  25. It's common for Bass to try and take a lure from another one. Every now and again you'll get lucky and get them both.
