  1. Hey guys. Been playing around with my baitcaster setups a bit and wanted to get your opinion. What do you guys think of these setups? Any changes you would make? Frog Setup: Revo Sx (6:4:1) with 7’ 3” Vendetta , H, XF action and 65lb PP Braid T-rig, jig, lipless crank Setup: G series Curado (6:5:1) with Veritas 6’9”, MH, XF action and 40lb Suffix 832 braid Deep Crank, Big spinnerbait Setup: BPS PQ (5:2:1) with Cabela XML 6’10” MH, F action, 12lb yozuri hybrid Shallow Crank, Chatterbait, spinnerbait setup: Kinectic (7:0:1) with 7’ Cara, MH, F action, with 40lb Suffix 832 braid. I throw buzzbaits on occasion. Thought about using the Kinectic setup, but could use some help here. Thanks Fellas!
  2. Yes my original question kinda got lost between the virtual bickering. Anyway, Lots of good advice. I might try to increase my rod budget, but won't fret too much over a new Veritas or Bucco
  3. That's actually really good advice. I noticed a major difference in my higher end rod compared to my lower end rod. Luckily I have $350 worth of gift cards to Cabelas that I can use for another rod/reel set up that is balanced the other way!
  4. So I took my son fishing this past weekend and his size 13 shoe broke my St. Croix Premier spinning rod in half. After crying in the fetal position for a few minutes I gathered myself and finshed our fisihing expidition minus my favorite spining rod/reelsetup. If you see a missing child report in the Indianapolis area, I just want you to know that I had nothing to do with it. Anyway, I'm in the market for a new rod to be paired up with my Pflueger Patriarch 9530 spinning reel. I mainly use for soft plastics and occasional spinnerbaits. I prefer a Medium power, fast action rod in the $100-$120 range. I really liked my St. Croix rod, but thought I would explore other options as well. What do you guys think about the following: 1) Abu Garcia Veritas 2) Buy another St. Croix Premier 3) BPS Carbonlite 4) Falcon Bucco Others? Also, Is it crazy that I have a $200 reel paired with a $100 rod?
