  1. Thank goodness the weather was nice Thursday because the fishing stunk! Lots of fish on the FF in 25 to 35 feet of water. I threw everyting but the kitchen sink at them, Jigs, Spoons, deep diving crankbaits, trolled and nota to show for it. First skink of the year at Hillsdale. WT 48.
  2. Hitting Hillsdale in the a.m. will post Monday! Going to be dragging Crawler rigs for Mr. Wally and cranking for Whites!
  3. For the size they fight like mad! I had a 8+ pound wiper on at Lacygne last winter and it broke me off at the boat ! I googled these pics of a white bass and a wiper. 1st one is a wiper, 2nd a white bass. Fun to catch!!
  4. I forgot to hit the quote button on the reply, yes my son and I pound them pretty hard, fishing with a 6 year you better be catching something Here is a quick trip down memory lane this year!
  5. What's the best thing to troll for these for? A little spoon or rooster-tail or something? I use a 1/2 oz lipless crank bait on Hillsdale for them, purple/white and green bottom or purple/chrome and green bottom.
  6. Pretty sure they got snatched up ASAP! When I saw them I grabbed two of each.
  7. Cabelas has some good stuff on Clearance, I got all of this for under $28, $6.99 Rapalas for $1.99! I am interested to see how these Northland Live Forage Spoons work in deep water! Any one else tried them??
  8. Well there needs to be at least one lake you dont completely beat the heck out of
  9. Fished Hillsdale Saturday, white bass bite was good, kept a few for the deep fryer! WT 58, all caught on chrome blue and orange lipless crankbait, drifted for walleyes for an hour nota. Only about 6-8 boats out total! Nice day with my Dad and Son.
  10. Blue I was out at Hillsdale 3 weeks ago, caught whites trolling off of Hillsdale Point, dragged Walley rigs with night crawlers, picked up nota on the Walleye, heading out in the morning with my Dad and my son to Hillsdale, gonna work the same pattern as above, now that the jet ski's have gone home! As for Lacygne dont waste your gas $$$$$ that lake is down 10 to 15 feet and yes you can launch your boat but the rocks and tires by the ramp are 100% out of the water!
  11. Good info as always! Got my Dad in town from FLA to freez the next 4 days, may try for some whites and walleyes at Hillsdale Saturday, Revo thats a nice fat Whiper!!
  12. You got it! Gods speed!
  13. Went to La Cygne Sunday and I should have saved my gas $, wind picked up, white caps and the water level was down 10+ feet, ran to the back of the lake towards the river and there is an island back there now, sad. Caught 3 fish nothing worth taking a pic of. Ran up towards the dam and trolled for a while, marked lots of fish in 20-25 feet of water, just could not get them to bite. Pulled out at 3 and the tourny guys where having the weigh in, winning weight I was told was 11 pounds, I remember when 11 pounds and 3 fish where a bad day on La Cygne, heard last Saturday one Tourny only caught 3 keepers on La Cygne. Lots of short fish! Wonder if the freezing of the lake last winter for the 1st time in 20 years has had an effect on those fish? Think I will wait til Mid Nov before heading back down.
  14. Stopped by Bass Pro Friday to get a few things and spoke to one of the guys in the fishing dept who told me there was gonna be 2 tournys at La Cygne Saturday, so I went to Hillsdale all day. Fast start two Bass in the first 30 minutes, biggest at 16 inches, caught a fair share of White Bass casting and trolling, was just a nice day to be out on the water!
  15. I suggest hanging out at the bait shop one day a week for a few hours and learn from the old timers!! Glad you had some luck with the minows!
  16. The Biffle head is best of both worlds! They just got them at Bass Pro in Olathe, I have not used it with a senko, but because of the worm hook you can rig it weedless and toss it all over the place! It kills me to fish slow, I like rippin crankbaits!
  17. Nice report Blue! I hope to hit Lacygne and Hillsdale this weekend!
  18. Try Green Pumpkin tubes with rattles rigged with a weighted jig head in deeper, water also look for ambush spots likes points or deep ledges. Is there a tackle store near you?
  19. Question for ya: I'm texas rigging my texas style on a 3/0 straight worm hook with a swivel and very small needle weight 18in up on 8lb Pline floro hybrid line. I'm not catching ****. I'm using senkos, worms, lizards and brush hogs, even craws occasionaly. It seems like you always get good fish on plastics... I understand if it's too much of a trade secret to ask, but what could I be doing wrong? IMO: I would trash the swivel, ever put your plastics in a bucket of water to see which ones stand up or float off the bottom? I have been fishin Power Worms with a Biffle head 3/8 oz Texas rigged and its been doing the deal. the lightest line I have on any of my reels is 12 pound, ask your self are you getting the max action out of your plastics, whats the main forage in the lake you fish? This time of year you have to match the hatch, small swim baits also work well this time of year and yes fish them slow. As for Blue, he has a fish magnet on the bottom of his boat!!
  20. Thanks for the info! Last time I was down was end of June and it was boiling.
  21. Any one hear any water temp reports at Lacygne?
  22. Deep Fried Wally tonight!!
  23. Went Private Pond Fishing Saturday slow but had few nice fatties!
