  1. I might switch line, but I am new to senkos myself. I have sat there and watched two ~6" bass each grab an end and fight over it for 30 seconds, which felt like one single bass chewing on it like a piece of double bubble. Might just be alot of small fish messing around with it. if your using 5" senkos you might switch to the shorter ones, id probably increase #s, however I expect alot would be dinks. NGaHB
  2. I like alot of things about Georgia's game management; however, I am not a fan of the number of doe days we have. In the northern region, where I hunt, doe days go almost year round. Ive seen trucks with multiple does weighing less than 100#. But I guess it makes the insurance companies happy. Are yall one of the states where shotguns are most all you can use? NGaHB
  3. Well thats interesting, I didnt know anyone had any sort of fondness for them. If you get the itch and end up in GA, any time of the year, there are plenty of em down here, and we would be very appreciative for your help with some population control. They seem to run in a two week pattern here around the house, you could make a calender on it. NGaHB
  4. I have the opportunity to catch Red Eye pretty often, alot of times during trout fishing trips. I haven't caught what would be a trophy yet, but I have managed a couple around 12", which is respectable for a Red Eye. Alot of people get shoal and red eye confused, but I am wondering if anyone else has tango'ed with red eye? NGaHB

  6. BOAT: B-ust O-ut A-nother T-housand -NGaHB
  7. Yall have a season for yotes? NGaHB
  8. I'd say night fishing is the way to go. I'm down here in the south too, and I can tell you I sure as hell dont enjoy being out in the heat fishing, especially after being in it all day at work. NGaHB
  9. I recently caught one with red fins, the fish ended up dying on me, so it would make since that the fish was already unhealthy, tho she looked perfectly fine other than the fact she was dead. NGaHB
  10. My guess is that it won't be able to survive the winter, but I could be wrong. They are mean little cusses, atleast in an aquarium. Next one, I'd throw on the bank. NGaHB
  11. Jig- I tried mouth to mouth, lookin back should have gone gill to mouth FFI- It sure was, fingers crossed for August
  12. Aversion from any sort of top water is a must. The first time you see a 5+ pound fish slam something topwater, and then see her jump four or five times during the fight duer to her having already been so shallow... You might as well give up the house and get a canopy for your boat, that's your new home. NGaHB
  13. 80 decent fish in a day! Id take that over one pig.... well most likely. Congradulations of the great day NGaHB
  14. My kayak is a cheap one from dicks sporting goods bought 10 years ago. I added a milk crate to the back with three pieces of PVC to hold rods. It gets you some serious looks putting it in the water, but I have caught plenty of fish from it. I think a comparable setup could be had for ~200, not saying I dont look forward to getting a new sit on top, but it works, and for VERRRY cheap. Id suggest trying out someones, or putting together a cheap setup before you spend upwards of a grand on one. Ive found some definate irritating tendicies about fishing out of a kayak. They dont bother me to the point where I dont enjoy it, but worth trying out before cleanin out the bank account NGaHB
  15. I guess I go towards the small side of things. I usually go with a 1/0 or 2/0 in smaller plastics, and then a 5/0 in my really large plastics. I like to use EWG in most things, tho I like straight shank shaky heads. I feel that the thin wire hooks are easier to get set. To each his own. NGaHB
  16. Never been much for bass, I cleaned her and put her in the freezer. I'll be hosting a BBQ here soon, so I'm going to fire up the fryer then. I did manage to gain some knowledge from seeing inside her. Her stomach was completely empty, where as her GI track was completely full. I'm not sure how long it takes for a bass to digest a stomach full of food, if anyone knows I would be very interested. I assume from this that she had switched to almost entirely eating at night, a piece of information that allows a good pattern to be established. -NGaHB
  17. As of lately I would say a Madd Man craw worm on a shaky head
  18. I'll use alot of real small plastics rigged wacky and fished weightless in a similar situation, Something small enough to be lobbed underhand and barely make a splash. Just be prepared to fish SLOOOOOW
  19. I hate to hear that, I hope an active effort is taken to get it back on track NGaHB
  20. Thanks for the kind words! I got on during my lunch break and was afraid everyone was thinking I was a fish murdering nazi. I am amazed I'm about to be able to say this, but fish A is now replaced by fish C... Caught an hour ago Cap Shane- Mr. Cullen was featured in Georgia Outdoor News, where he said the same thing you just did. I originally started using them at night, not just dusk and dawn, when I read that. Took a while to find the right blades, size and trailers tho. NGaHB
  21. Its all I had in the truck, the average size bass I've got out of this lake is around .5 pounds. Really unusual sized fish
  22. Woah fellas, let's all take a deep breath and ask before we condem. Fish A was caught off a dock and out of the water for less than 2 min total, my girlfriend took the photo. This was at Lake Lanier. Fish B was caught on an ultralight rod with 4 pound test, this resulted in a very long fight which wore her out. I tried to revive her for over 20 min, but she wouldn't go. So as opposed to leaving her to rot I put her on ice and plan to eat her tonight. I hate she didn't make it, but she was the FIRST bass I have EVER kept. NGaHB
  23. After hearing some good things about fishing at night with buzz baits I pulled out the ol buzz bait box and got together a few different colors, sizes, and most importantly Ive found, different sounds. A week ago I caught fish A on a white buzz bait around 1:30 AM, beating my earlier best Earlier tonight I caught fish B on a black and blue buzz bait around 9:45 I feel extremely fortunate for the chances to out do my PB in such close order with such good lookin fish If you cant sleep and your close to the water, head down late night with some big Buzz Baits NGaHB
  24. Big ol buzz baits can really be productive at night. In theory black or black and blue should be best, but then again sometimes its less about color and more about sound. I personally believe the sound has more of an effect. Ive landed a few nice ones this summer, several after midnight. NGaHB
