  1. Well today I'm heading back out on the kyack but this time in a lake. Hopefully a little better luck. Sky's are still bright blue and sunny. I will try fishing real slow today
  2. Well I we t out yesterday in my uncles kyack with out any luck. It was very windy with the cold front that just came through. I was constantly battleing the wind. I was fishing in a slow moving river with a bunch of channels off of it and it looked like the best bass spot I have ever seen in my life. No luck though. I threw senkos ribbon tail worms and spinner baits. I'm hoping to get a day with a little less wind and I might have some success
  3. Wow beautiful fish I'm on my way to the lake right now. I'm fishing from a kyack witch I have never done before so hopefully I can land something and not become gator bait. Ill post later to let you guys know how I did
  4. I am in Florida for the week at an uncles house. It is in the crystal river area on the gulf side. What bait and colors are you guys using this time of year. What techniques and so on. I don't know how to fish for southern bass I know it will be similar to n.y. But I know places vary. Thanks for the input. I would love to catch a Florida linker this week.
  5. i got a bass pro PQ as my first casting reel. it was very easy to learn on and a great reel. i use it just as much as my abu's and shimanos. you can find it on sale for a goot price too
  6. so i guess i am best off spending my gift cards on something else
  7. d**n, well hopefully the lefts will be coming in soon
  8. ok i have a hunting and fishing show coming to town this weekend i was planning on checking them out this weekend. i have a 2 sx's and 1 stx and i like them very much i guess its personal preference. i would imagine this real would be similar just better hopefully for the extra $150.00 lol
  9. hey guys just wondering if anyone has heard or knows when these will start comming to the popular stores. i have a bunch of bass pro gift cards and was hopping they will start to carry them soon. i know you can find them on ebay but i would like to know if i should use up my gift cards or save them because i really would like to get that reel
  10. the one i ordered was the dx704c. i wanted a nice heavy rod for flipping and pitching
  11. i Just ordered one of these from cabela's they are on sale for 219.88 which is 100 off the regular price. the only thing is its on back order. i cant wait to get it but i have never held one of these rods before. i have a savvy and like it alot so i could only imagine i will like this rod more. does anyone have one? and do you like them?
  12. yea i have been trying to find sales on the LTB's but i was to late for the TW sale but i found Dobyns champions for $190.00
  13. I have 2 of them for soft plastic fishing and love them. The are by no means the best rods but they are inexpensive and a great rod to start with
  14. The only thing I am worried about is I hear of alot about dobyns rods braking... Any input on the reliability of these rods. I got the savvy and love it but it was cheap so if it broke no big deal but the champion is a little more I would like it to last
  15. i was thinking of getting a new rod. i was thinking either a st. croix legend tournament or the dobyns champion. i have other st. croix such as the avids and mojo bass, and i also have a dobyns savy which i really like as well. i just cant make up my mind any help would be appreciated. i am planning to use it as a pitching rod, cranks and spinner baits
  16. i fish all st. croix and loomis but i picked one of these up during a labor day sale and could not be happier. it is at a great price to begin with so if it is on sale i would deff. pick it up
  17. 8.2 lb. on a original f-11 rapala using it top water in harriman state park n.y.
  18. i fish more in the morning and bring about 6 or 7 rods. i through spinner baits in the morning or something like an original floating rapala. if that dosnt work i go to rubber worms or senkos, after that its deep crank bait time. and hopefully by that time i can find a pattern. i will generally fish a bait for 30-45 min
  19. i have a revo sx i think its the 2009 model it has the silver on it rather than the red where the handle connects to it. any way i have had it abot a year now and the other day i mad a cast with it and it was kinda hard to crank the handle and was making almost a grinding or scratching noise. it felt like reeling in line when it is wrapped around the tip of the rod a few times. i thought that is what was happening but it was not tangled at all. so i eventually got the line all in and made another cast and there was no problem and the rest of the day it was fine. is this something serious i should try and get fixed or is it just a little spaz out with the reel?
  20. ok well i made an order to tw yesterday and got the strike king heads and finess worms and zoom finess worms. everthing should be in next week i am excited to try it. also ordered a bobyns savy and curado because they are down to $110. i am an abu guy but for that price i might as well try it.
  21. i was having that same problem a few weeks ago in a tourniment. i would be getting bites and line jumping all around and then i would go and set the hook and nothing. i turned out to be crappie playing with it. i finally hooked one and it was aboy 10" i was driving me crazy. just a thought maybe its not bass your feeling
  22. What is your favorite shakey head worm to use. Also what jig heads do you prefer. I belong to a local fishing club and everyone lately has been killing them on shakey heads. I have never fished this technique before. Any help would be appreciated
  23. lip less cranks are great in the summer. look for patches of grass. the greatest thing is you can fish them at different depths. Let it sink untill you just feel the top of the grass when your reeling it and keep it at that height. when you get a little hung up just rip it through. it would be a good idea to use a heavey braid for this. but when ripping it through will cause reaction bites and generaly big fish give reaction bites most of the time
  24. Use a culprit worm or a yamamoto kreature. Use either with a bullet weight pegged to it.
